this is such a cool tool. Comes in clutch for polishing stone, if you don’t have water for certain stones you’ll burn them, and sometimes you can’t get the burns out. eliminates that, set it on a nice even mist, and polish away!!! Use it for anything where water is needed, hell you could water your plants if you wanted too, but it’d be better in your tile arsenal. Thanks again

This particular shower has some very cool details. First off the niche’ is something I envisioned and built on the fly as I progressed up the wall, I wanted lots of depth, and veiny wraps.
The seat I wanted a “book matched” look, and have everything wrap over and around. Stuck a leg shaving shelf in there as well. All the black solids are Quartz with a little fleck of light silver. With the pan tile, I love the invisible drains, they make the shower floor flow better and you don’t have an ugly drain plate in the center of your floor. This particular one got a custom paint job, mainly because the fixtures in the shower are a black finish and I didn’t want to see the chrome shining through the area around the tileable top of the drain.
Everything has color matched 100% silicone in all changes of planes, the shower had a 18-20 hr water test, all cement board taped, mudded, & waterproofed, sand and cement prepitch, 40mil rubber liner, (tested&passed) final float of sand and cement. Done old school because you can’t show me a schluter, WEDI, prova, or any other “foam” shower over 20yrs old. 😉
Old school always beats new school.

This particular shower had some challenges but turned out really well.
I was able to wrap majority of the veins of the tile into the niche’s, and talked the clients into using Quartz solids for the curb top and niche’s.
The floor of the shower is a black penny round with raven color grout, really pops with the main floor of the bathroom.
I’m very anxious to see the fixtures go in this shower, mainly because they’re going to be the antique brass color!!

I don’t believe in stealing, unless it’s of a picture Crossgrain, LLC took that has a backsplash I installed in it. 😉 😝
This faux brick looks killer behind the absolute CUSTOM cabinets! Matt is a true custom cabinet maker, these cabinets didn’t get ordered to fit and come in cardboard, they were all hand made in a shop by one guy.
If you’re looking for TRUE custom cabinets, give them a call.
And then call me for your backsplash. 😉

New home prep....
Unless you cover all the subfloor of a new home, which would be an absolute unnecessary expense, you get dirty floors. I have never been the type to just walk in, sweep, and start installing cement board, I ALWAYS grind the floor clean, you get a MUCH better bond with zero obstructions interfering with your thinset under your cement board, which is an installation must! I’ve never been told this is MUST DO step, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to do this step.

Here’s another example of taking a little extra time to make a small tile shower into something even more impressive. I was able to take tiles and miter and epoxy some grain matching shelves and grain match the back of the niche’ to make a cool little statement in an otherwise boring shower, don’t get me wrong, the tile is sweet, but who doesn’t like a little extra whipped cream?

The tile vibration tool is an absolute game changer for larger format tiles. I had the opportunity to try it out, and holy smokes, the coverage you get vs the coverage normally gotten is night and day!

Here is a stunner I installed for Kirkwood Flooring & Blinds. (located in Chesterfield Valley)
Polished porcelain that is made to look like natural stone (without the maintenance)
Lots of wraps, corners, cuts, and math! Going back on the 28th to set a couple solids and do a wainscoting behind a free standing bathtub. Stay tuned kids for the final photos of this bad boy!
