to a smooth construction process. Stuart and Leslie Povall moved to Oxford in December of 2015 from Charlotte, NC. In Charlotte they worked with several high-profile firms, gaining invaluable experience on many different project types. While with StarrDesign, Leslie provided design and branding services on numerous restaurants and retail spaces, including single stores, emerging concepts, and national brands. She considers StarrDesign as one of the premier firms on the East coast for restaurant and retail design and considers herself fortunate to have spent time with them. Stuart worked primarily in the residential development market sector while with firms like Narmour-Wright and Housing Studio. He specialized in large and complex urban infill projects that mixed uses and construction types. These projects often included parking garages and commercial spaces integrated with the residential use. He also considers himself fortunate to have learned his craft from such dynamic and skilled firms. Stuart and Leslie are relationship oriented, driven professionals with an inherent desire to do all things correctly and efficiently. They believe it important to have the ability to work effectively with budgets and timelines while maintaining a focus on quality and dynamic design.

Develop Design Studio is an established architecture firm in Oxford, MS. We practice in many areas of focus, most notably mixed-use development, office, and restaurant/retail design and branding. Our project locations have us practicing across the Southeast from Virginia to Texas. We are a relationship-oriented firm that strives to maintain long-term clients through a customer service and team-oriented approach.
We are currently seeking an intern or newly licensed architect. Preferred candidates will have the following profile or comparable education, experience, and abilities:

•Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited school is preferred.
•1-3 years’ experience.
•Architectural licensure or the ability to gain such upon completion of internship/examination.
•Time management skills and proactivity.
•Good interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrated experience using Revit (primarily) and AutoCAD (secondarily) techniques and principles.
•Ability in Adobe Suite programs.

Successful candidates will have the following responsibilities, privileges, and opportunities:

•Develop specific parts of the drawings under guidance, with an ever-expanding scope and breadth of responsibilities.
•Become part of the design and problem-solving process.
•Be a part of general project and client management. With time – hopefully, quickly - we expect this to grow into full and independent project management.
•Expect a broad and expanding range of tasks. One day you might be presenting a design to a new client and the next you might be drawing bathroom elevations. The next you might be measuring an existing space or on a site visit getting muddy.
•Firm ethos is – “act like a professional and be treated like one”. Manage your time properly and we’ll let you manage your time.

Pay and benefits are commensurate with experience and ability. We are competitive with salary and benefits such as health insurance stipend, retirement benefits, etc. This is a full time and in person opportunity; other arrangements might be considered for the right candidate.

The Oxford Planning Commission approved Phase 2 of the Oxford Commons-Entertainment Block Monday that will feature two restaurants with outdoor dining and an outdoor stage.
