Today we’re celebrating Chris Dean on his 1 year anniversary with DeGraaf Systems!

From the moment Chris walked through our doors, he has been an incredible asset to our team. As an Electrical Superintendent currently overseeing one of our projects at Hurlburt Field, Chris leads with knowledge, professionalism, and the kind of work ethic that earns the respect of everyone around him. His crew respects him, his leadership speaks for itself, and his dedication to getting the job done right never goes unnoticed. Outside of work, Chris is a devoted husband to Olivia and a proud dad to Brooke, Major, Emilynn, and Sophie. Family is clearly at the heart of everything he does, and we are thankful to have someone with his character and leadership as part of the DeGraaf Systems family. Thank you for all of your hard work this past year, Chris! We appreciate everything you bring to the team and look forward to many more years ahead.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Marshal Connell! 🎉

Over the past year, Marshal has become such a valuable asset to the DeGraaf Systems team. As a Superintendent currently managing a project at Eglin AFB, he consistently goes above and beyond wherever he is needed. His hard work, leadership, dependability, and willingness to jump in and help do not go unnoticed, and we greatly appreciate everything he does for our company. Outside of work, Marshal is also an amazing dad to Bubba, Heartlee, and Xoee, and it’s clear that the same dedication he brings to work carries over into his family life as well. We are thankful to have you as part of the DeGraaf family and look forward to many more years ahead. Congratulations on your first year with us, Marshal!

Today we are celebrating Shawn Wasielewski and his 7 year anniversary with DeGraaf Systems! 🎉

As our Communications Manager, Shawn has been an incredible asset to our team. With over 10 years of experience in communications work, he brings knowledge, leadership, technical skill, and attention to detail to every project he oversees. His dedication to quality work and supporting his team plays a huge role in the continued success of our communications division. Beyond the job site, Shawn is a proud dad to Ashton and Tyler and spends much of his time coaching baseball. A true reflection of the leadership, teamwork, and commitment he brings both professionally and personally. We are thankful for the last 7 years and appreciate everything Shawn does for DeGraaf Systems, our team, and our customers each day. Congratulations, Shawn!

Happy 9 Year Anniversary to Chris McKeon! 🎉🔥

Chris celebrated 9 years with DeGraaf Systems last month as our NICET III Fire Alarm Technician, although getting him to slow down long enough for a picture is a job all by itself! 😂 If you know Chris, you know he keeps everyone laughing and constantly keeps us on our toes. Between service calls, inspections, troubleshooting, and taking care of customers, he is always on the move and always willing to jump in wherever needed. Over the last 9 years, Chris has become such an important part of the DeGraaf family. His hard work, dedication, knowledge, and humor make a difference every single day. We appreciate everything you do, Chris, and we are thankful to have you on our team. Congratulations on 9 years!

As this week comes to a close, we’re feeling especially grateful for the opportunity to attend the Apprenticeship Appreciation Dinner at Locklin Technical College last night.

Investing in apprentices isn’t just part of what we do at DeGraaf Systems—it’s part of who we are. These hardworking men and women represent the future of our industry, and we are proud to support their growth, their training, and their commitment to building strong careers right here in our community.

To our apprentices: thank you for showing up, working hard, asking questions, and pushing yourselves to learn something new every day. Your dedication makes a difference, and we are honored to be part of your journey. 💙

We also want to thank Locklin Technical College for their partnership and for the incredible role they play in preparing the next generation of skilled professionals. Opportunities like these strengthen our workforce and our community.

This past Thursday, James DeGraaf (Owner/President) and Kelly Coates (Office Manager/Business Development Manager) had the honor of representing DeGraaf Systems at the Milton High School Job & Career Fair! We had the opportunity to meet such a great group of students and talk with them about the exciting career paths available in the electrical, fire alarm, security, and communications industries. It’s always encouraging to see young people exploring hands-on careers that make a real impact in our community. At DeGraaf Systems, we’re proud to support the next generation through paid apprenticeships, on-the-job training, and opportunities to work on meaningful commercial and military projects right here in the Panhandle. Thank you to Milton High School for inviting us—we truly enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to connecting with some of these future industry leaders!

Today we’re celebrating two years with Jacob Cross here at DeGraaf Systems, and what an incredible impact he has made in that time. Jacob joined our team as an IS Technician, and through hard work, leadership, and a true commitment to excellence, has grown into the Manager of our Fire & Security Division. His dedication to our customers, his team, and the quality of work he stands behind every day does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly thankful to have Jacob as part of the DeGraaf family. His leadership continues to strengthen our division and helps move our company forward in a big way. Thank you for everything you do, Jacob! We are proud to recognize Asher Smith as our Employee of the Quarter for the 1st Quarter of 2026! Asher brings something special to our team every single day. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn make him stand out wherever he goes. He consistently gives 110% in everything he does, and the supervisors he works under always have great things to say about him. One of the things we admire most about Asher is the way he lets his faith and character shine. Not just in his personal time, but in how he treats others and carries himself on the job every day. He is doing an outstanding job in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program, and we are excited to watch him continue to grow in his career with DeGraaf Systems.

What a great and productive 1st Quarter Team Meeting we had today! 👏 We spent time together reviewing where we are, where we’re headed, and the goals we’re working toward as a company—and then wrapped the afternoon up with some team-building fun at the bowling lanes 🎳 We are incredibly thankful for this group.
