Allowing faucets to drip slightly overnight is essential, as frozen pipes can be a significant issue that typically requires thawing before repairs can commence. To mitigate this risk, ensure that all cabinet doors under sinks are left open and faucets are left running until temperatures rise above freezing.

With the threat of freezing weather and possible snow and ice it’s going to be hard to keep your water from freezing. Especially with temperatures being below freezing for several days. It’s hard to unfreeze pipes that are buried in wall and under houses. Most times it hard to even find the exact spot thats frozen to try and unthaw.

I recommend knowing where your water main shut off is. I find the best place to turn the water off for sure is the curb stop located inside the meter box. Usually located by the street or side walk. Lowe’s has a tool to make it easy to turn.

Best way to prevent it from freezing is let the water drip at a steady rate. Especially sinks that are on outside walls. Also leaving cabinets open and help circulate warm air around areas with water pipes. Also remove hose pipes from spigots, and close all vent to prevent cold air blowing into crawl space.
