This weeks A&M Tropicals tidbit is to share some pics of mature Royal Poincianas that are located in the US as well as around the world. If you have not had the chance to see one of these trees in their full bloom state, believe me, it's quite a sight!!
Even trees without blooms have such deep green feathery foliage that has an unmistakable tropical display.

A&M Tropicals tidbit: Royal Poinciana, also known as the "Flame tree" or "Flamboyant tree" is native to Madagascar and thrive in warm humid climates. They are a deciduous tree with feathery like foliage that dances in the day breeze and closes up at night. Upon maturing, at 3-5 years they will bloom and display fiery red/orange flowers.
