🍅 It’s definitely the busy season around the garden! 🌱
Right now, we’re focused on picking, watering, weeding, and keeping the produce stand stocked. Once things slow down a bit, it’ll be time to make homemade tomato sauce and tomato paste.
So how do I still have fresh garden tomatoes later in the season? I freeze them! ❄️🍅
I mostly use Roma tomatoes for this. As they ripen, I simply wash them, remove the stems, and pop them into freezer bags whole. When I’m ready to make sauce, I thaw them just enough that the skins slip right off. It’s an easy way to preserve that fresh, homegrown flavor without spending hours canning during the busiest part of the season.
Sometimes the best way to keep up with the harvest is to save the big projects for a rainy day! ❤️

🌶️ Pepper lovers, this one’s for you! 🌶️

The peppers are starting to ripen, and Rhett was so excited to pick this beautiful lilac pepper to show off! 💜 These are a sweet variety of bell pepper with a crisp, delicious flavor that’s perfect for fresh snacking, salads, or cooking.

We also have fresh poblano peppers stocked at the produce stand! If you’ve never tried them, you’re missing out. Poblanos are mild, not spicy, and are amazing grilled, roasted, stuffed, or sautéed. They add incredible flavor to so many meals!

And for those who enjoy a little heat, we also have fresh jalapeños available.

Come grab some fresh, garden-grown peppers while they’re in season! 🌱

🧄 My very first braided garlic is officially in the books!

I have to admit… I almost love it so much I want to use it as a table runner on my coffee table! 😂

It may not be the prettiest braid, but it’s made with garlic we grew ourselves, and that makes it pretty special to me. Now it’s ready to hang and cure until we use it in meals over the months to come.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about growing your own food, harvesting it, preserving it, and knowing it’ll nourish your family long after the garden season winds down. Here’s to learning new skills and getting a little better every year! 🌱🧄❤️

When I started this produce stand, I never imagined I’d have to make a post like this.

One of my biggest goals has always been to bring our community together and offer fresh, locally grown produce through a self-serve stand built on trust. The honor system only works when we all choose to be honorable.

Unfortunately, I witnessed someone taking items and trying to pass this off as payment. I didn’t make a scene because I don’t know your circumstances, and maybe you’re going through a difficult time. If that’s the case, I truly hope things get better for you. But if this was simply a choice, I ask that you please make it right. Honesty is always appreciated.

Some may not know this, but I also work from home and can see the produce stand throughout the day. We also have a camera system that notifies me of activity, so I am aware of what is happening.

Please don’t let one dishonest decision ruin something that has been such a blessing for so many people.

To everyone who has supported us, paid honestly, shared kind words, and helped make this stand what it is—thank you. Your integrity and encouragement mean more than you know. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to continuing to serve this amazing community. ❤️

Running a produce stand is hard work… especially when you’re only 3 years old! ❤️
Rhett takes his job very seriously. He’ll help carry your produce to your car, count out your money (or at least try 😆), count your produce, and he’s even our best salesman—he’ll probably try to convince you to buy more than you came for! 🍅🌽🍉
After working that hard, I guess a nap at the produce stand was well deserved. 🤣
We’re pretty sure he’s the cutest little employee around, and we wouldn’t trade our tiny helper for anything. 💚

Ohhh no!!! 😅

Just out here… prolonging the inevitable. 😂🔥

Today’s mission:
🐛 Squashing squash bugs.
🥚 Burning squash bug eggs.
🌱 Inspecting every vine for vine borers.

Will they eventually win? Maybe.

Am I going down without a fight? Absolutely not. 💪😂

This is the side of gardening that doesn’t always make the highlight reel. Growing food means being out here every day protecting the plants as best you can. Every egg I burn and every bug I remove gives these zucchini a little more time to produce.

The battle continues… and I’m not waving the white flag yet! 🥒🔥
