🌴🚗 : Interstate 95 - Exit 289
Long before Palm Coast was the bustling city we know today, Exit 289 on Interstate 95 served as the community's front door. For decades, nearly everyone arriving in Palm Coast—whether they were visiting, house hunting, or moving here permanently—entered through this interchange.
This aerial photo captures a time when much of the surrounding area was still pine forest, with the iconic blue Palm Coast water tower standing watch over the growing community. Years before the Matanzas Woods Parkway interchange opened, Exit 289 was the primary gateway connecting Palm Coast to the rest of Florida and beyond.
Today, thousands of residents and travelers pass through Exit 289 every day. Looking back at scenes like this reminds us just how much Palm Coast has grown from a bold vision in the woods into the vibrant city we call home.
