“Can you just replace an outdoor outlet?”

Sounds simple.

In reality, the old box was heavily corroded, the hardware was seized, dissimilar metals had created additional issues, and what looked like a 15-minute repair quickly turned into a complete box replacement.

That’s the part most homeowners never see.

A professional electrician doesn’t get paid for changing a receptacle. He gets paid for knowing what to do when the job stops being simple.

What looks like a small service call often requires:

* specialty tools
* troubleshooting
* code knowledge
* replacement parts on hand
* years of experience

That’s why our trucks carry thousands of dollars worth of tools and inventory. Not because every job is complicated, but because any job can become complicated.

The good news? We had everything needed to solve the problem on the spot and get the outlet back in service safely.

Professional work isn't expensive because it's difficult.

It's expensive because we're prepared when it becomes difficult.

Building a custom home?
Then don’t expect trades to guess what you want.

No dimensions = no accuracy.

Pinterest pictures are not a plan.
AI renders are not a plan.

Real results come from real measurements:
furniture, cabinets, TVs, beds, lighting fixtures, mirrors, appliances.

That’s how you avoid:
switches behind furniture,
bad lighting placement,
and expensive finish-stage changes.

At Avilo Electric, we don’t start rough electrical without accurate layouts and dimensions.

More planning upfront.
Less chaos later.

This project started with a homeowner saying:

“I know I want exterior lighting… but I have no idea how it should actually look.”

The original plans didn’t include soffit lighting, and there was no real lighting design for the exterior. The builder couldn’t give the owner a clear vision of the final result, so the client came directly to us.

Instead of just installing lights blindly, we first created a lighting layout and nighttime visual rendering showing exactly how the house would look after installation.

That allowed the homeowner to:
— see the lighting effect before construction
— adjust fixture locations
— avoid expensive changes later
— move forward with confidence instead of guessing

After the design was approved, our team completed the installation and brought the concept to life.

This is exactly how we believe custom homes should be built:
not just installing components — but helping clients visualize the final result before the work begins.

Sometimes being a good electrician also means being part designer, part planner, and part problem solver

When Duke Energy flagged this service for clearance issues near the balcony, the goal was simple:

Get the service relocated safely, updated properly, and ready for inspection — without dragging the project out for days.

For this upgrade we:
— replaced the PVC mast with rigid metal conduit (RMC)
— installed new service conductors
— updated the grounding system
— added a proper grounding bridge/bonding connection
— completed everything in one day and prepared the service for inspection

Overhead service conductors must maintain safe clearance from balconies, windows, and areas accessible to people per NEC 230.9 and 230.24. That’s especially important on elevated coastal homes where balconies and service locations often end up very close together. ()

Clean, safe, code-compliant, and ready for the next step.

Projects like this are where detailed planning really matters.

This custom wine area features a fully hidden LED lighting system integrated behind the backsplash, with multiple LED modules and controllers carefully concealed inside the cabinetry and wall assembly.

A lot of coordination went into this before the finish stage:
— exact fixture placement
— hidden wiring paths
— controller access
— clean lighting effect without visible components

The goal was simple:
create a dramatic lighting effect while keeping the installation completely clean and invisible.

This is the kind of work that only looks effortless when the preparation behind it is done correctly.

Most electrical issues don’t come from installation — they come from poor planning.

This project included custom cabinetry, hidden outlets, integrated lighting, and multiple trades working together.

Instead of figuring things out on site, we created a detailed coordination plan before rough-in.

Result:
✔ clean install
✔ no conflicts
✔ no rework
✔ passed inspection

This complex project was completed without rework and delivered exactly as planned.

What you see here is not just wiring — it’s a system built with intention.

If you want your project to run smoothly from the start — let’s talk.

Hundreds of projects across Tampa Bay in the last 2 years.

Not chasing volume.
Building a system where projects don’t fall apart.

Every point on this map is:
— permits and utility coordination
— inspections passed without surprises
— problems solved before they hit the jobsite

We’ve seen where projects break.
That’s why we don’t focus on just “running wire” —
we focus on planning and coordination upfront.

Because most problems don’t start on site.
They start long before the first wire is pulled.

When a project is properly planned:
— budgets don’t spiral
— timelines don’t collapse
— clients don’t get frustrated

If you’re looking for more than just another contractor —
we can show you how we approach it.

🔌 Myth vs. Reality:

MYTH: “DIY electrical work saves money.”
REALITY: Mistakes can cost 10x more to fix + void insurance + create fire hazards.

MYTH: “Old wiring is fine if it works.”
REALITY: Wiring older than 30 years is a major safety risk.

MYTH: “Any electrician will do.”
REALITY: Licensed, insured professionals = peace of mind.

Don’t gamble with safety. Choose Avilo Electric.
