Our Southridge project is taking shape.

Steel columns are going up, wrapping much of the exterior and setting the stage for floor-to-ceiling glass that will open the home to sweeping Palm Springs views. Built by HJH Construction, this system also supports custom operable brise-soleil screens—bringing shade, privacy, and a bold architectural edge.

Designed by Cioffi Architect, the Palm Springs Animal Shelter reflects the modernist architecture the city is known for. A broad cantilevered roof creates deep shade, while slender steel columns and horizontal louvers filter light and reduce heat—hallmarks of climate-responsive design.

Textured panels, warm desert-toned materials, and layered façades add depth, while native plants like cacti and desert grasses integrate the building into its surroundings. The result of this project is a thoughtful civic space that blends modernist design with the mission of caring for the community’s animals.

These are initial sketches and details from an interior design meeting for a demo and redesign of the interiors of a Sackley home located in Palm Springs.

Stan Sackley designed 17 homes on this same street, and they are mid-century modern gems in southern Palm Springs. Our clients want to compliment the home's history with a simple design comprised of a muted color palette, designer furniture, and a bold card room. This project requires an extensive demo, but we will be preserving the natural floors and utilizing the same stone on the exterior of the home (pictured here) to surround the fireplace.

We're excited to work with Design Within Reach in downtown Palm Springs on this project. We look forward to partnering with them to find the perfect pieces for this project.

Stay tuned for more on this Sackley home.

A couple years in the making, this renovation of the Bermuda Dunes Airport is complete.

This 60’s Psyche-Mod Design was inspired by episodes of The Jetsons, the film 2001, & channeling Alexander Girard for Braniff, Emilio Pucci & Beth Levine.

This private airport in Bermuda Dunes now welcomes visitors in true Palm Springs style. From the custom upholstered chairs, to the cement benches and painted breeze block and roof voids to allow palms to pass all come together to refresh "Dunes Air" at the airport.

A brise soleil was an addition to the Azure Sky Hotel by Cioffi Architect and has informed design elements of the rest of the hotel. This feature not only adds privacy for hotel guests, it adds visual interest while allowing air and light to pass through. The design shifts based on perspective. More to come with this project...stay tuned.

An update on the iconic spider sculpture at The Hole in the Wall welding shop:

"After more than 40 years in existence, The Hole in the Wall welding shop is being demolished. Owned and operated by Bob Miner as a welding & dune buggy shop, the business was well known to off-road racers including Parnelli Jones. After Miner’s passing the property was sold and planning is underway for a new mixed-use project on the 40 acre site. The building was originally planned for re-use, unfortunately it was in massive structural failure and was condemned by the City of Palm Springs. Miner’s iconic spider sculpture will be saved, to be restored and relocated on the site." - James Cioffi, Principal Architect of Record.
