Another milestone at the Palmer DNR project: 16 feet of Stronghold ICF wall, poured and complete.

With the wall pour topped out, the concrete scope is ready to turn over to the carpenter crew as they work toward getting the building dried in before winter.

This ICF wall package creates a resilient central core for vehicle and equipment storage, with the inherent strength and fire resistance of reinforced concrete providing added protection where it matters most. Whether it’s used throughout an entire building or strategically as a fire barrier between sections, ICF’s natural disaster resilience is an important element in creating a durable, high-performance building envelope designed for Alaska conditions.

Another pour is underway on one of downtown Anchorage’s most significant redevelopment projects.

ACS crews are back on the historic Block 41 revitalization, supporting concrete placement for the new parking garage taking shape in the heart of downtown. It’s exciting to see this major project continue to rise—and to have our crews and equipment playing a role in building what comes next for this iconic city block.

Fairbanks International Airport is a critical transportation hub for Alaska, and this week ACS crews were on site supporting concrete placement for new hard stand areas using our loop belt conveyor system.

Designed to move material efficiently across challenging jobsites, loop belt conveyors help crews place concrete where traditional methods may not be practical—making them a valuable tool on large infrastructure projects like this one.

ACS provides statewide concrete pumping, placement support, and specialty concrete services wherever the work takes us. We’re proud to help deliver the infrastructure Alaska depends on.

🎉 Crew Spotlight: Travis Turnbull

We’re celebrating a birthday today — and nearly four years of Travis Turnbull keeping the many moving parts of Alaska Concrete Solutions moving.

As our Concrete Operations Manager, Travis has a gift for juggling the wide range of services ACS provides across Alaska — from Southcentral to Kodiak to the North Slope — and somehow keeping all those plates in the air. Funny, dependable, hardworking, and never short on a little showmanship, he brings a jovial energy to even the longest days.

But one of the things we appreciate most about Travis is that he never stops learning, growing, and looking for ways to do things better. That mindset carries through to the crews he leads and the work they do every day.

We’re not quite sure where we’d be without him — but we’re pretty sure there would be a few plates on the floor. 😃
