Happy Birthday to our very own Juan Nava

Today, we’re celebrating someone who means so much to our VES family!

Juan’s journey with Villasenor Electrical Service began right out of Palmer High School. What started as a young man learning the electrical trade has grown into a career filled with hard work, dedication, and accomplishments we’re incredibly proud of.

Today, Juan leads our South Division, specializing in custom homes, and has earned the kind of trust and respect that speaks volumes about the person he is. In fact, we have a customer who insists Juan stays on their projects!

Family has always been at the heart of VES, and having Juan as part of this journey makes it that much more meaningful.

One of Juan’s proudest career moments was getting to wire the scoreboard on the very football field where he once played in high school.

As Juan continues working toward his Journeyman Electrician License, we couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds for him.

Juan, we hope you know how much you’re appreciated. We’re grateful to have you as part of the VES family, and we hope this next year brings you as much happiness and joy as you bring to those around you.

⚡ KITCHEN ISLAND OUTLETS: WHY PLACEMENT MATTERS

A beautiful kitchen starts with thoughtful planning—including where you plug in your appliances.

An appliance cord hanging over the countertop edge can be snagged or pulled, potentially bringing a hot appliance down with it. That’s the safety concern behind changes to the National Electrical Code’s countertop receptacle rules.

Here’s what homeowners and builders should know:

✅ Under the 2023 NEC, island and peninsula countertop receptacles are optional. If no outlet is installed, provisions for a future receptacle are required.

✅ When a receptacle is installed within a countertop, the assembly must be specifically listed for countertop use. A cabinet-side outlet below the counter cannot serve as the countertop receptacle under these rules.

✅ The 2026 NEC adds clarification through Section 210.52(C)(4), addressing prohibited receptacle locations below countertops.

Happy Boss’s Day to the one who keeps us moving forward!

I still think back to 2015, sitting around our kitchen table, talking about your dreams, your vision, and what you hoped Villasenor Electrical Service could one day become. Back then, it was just an idea, a whole lot of faith, and a man who wasn't afraid to work hard to make it happen.

That kitchen table is where so much of this journey began. We had no idea what the years ahead would bring, the challenges we would face, the sacrifices we would make, or the doors that would open along the way.

And those sacrifices weren't just yours. They were sacrifices our entire family made. The long days that turned into even longer nights, missed family time, weekends spent working instead of making memories, the financial worries, and the times when this business had to come before everything else. There were moments when we gave more than we had, prayed harder than ever, and wondered if all the sacrifices would someday be worth it.

Building a business isn't just about the person whose name is on it. It's about the family standing behind them, the sacrifices nobody sees, and the determination to keep going even when walking away might have been easier.

But through it all, one thing has never changed - your passion for what you do, your work ethic, and your determination to build something you and our family can be proud of.

Today, that vision is so much more than a conversation around our kitchen table. It's a company, a team, relationships we've built, and a story we're still writing. And while the journey hasn't always been easy, every chapter has been part of building something bigger than ourselves.

I hope you never forget how far you've come. How far the business has come.

From reviewing plans and coordinating schedules to discussing changes and completing the final walkthrough, keeping everyone informed helps prevent surprises, reduce delays, and keep the job moving.

For us at VES, that means asking questions early, sharing updates, and addressing concerns before they become bigger problems.

Owners, general contractors, and every trade have a part in the process. When we communicate well, we build better together.

EMERGENCY SERVICE REPLACEMENT

Because electrical problems don’t exactly wait for a convenient time!

Our VES crew got to work replacing this electrical service and getting things back up and running safely!

It’s not always the pretty light fixtures and custom homes… sometimes it’s the jobs that remind you just how important having a reliable electrician really is!

Jose and I have been blessed to be part of Miracle League for the past few seasons, and we’ve met so many amazing players, families, coaches, and friends along the way. It truly is one of those experiences that gives you just as much—if not more—than you give.

While we had to step away from coaching this fall, we couldn’t stay away completely! You’ll still catch us out there being **Buddies** at a few games this season. 💙

This commercial building is 30,000 ft.² and consisted of demolition cleanup testing all new LED lighting and new office space!!

𝙏𝙒𝙊 𝙔𝙀𝘼𝙍𝙎 𝙊𝙁 𝙀𝙇𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙍𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙇 𝙒𝙊𝙍𝙆. 𝙊𝙉𝙀 𝙄𝙉𝘾𝙍𝙀𝘿𝙄𝘽𝙇𝙀 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉.

What began as electrical demolition became a project that truly showcased what VES is capable of.

Following extensive tornado damage, VES was brought in to assist with the electrical demolition of this property along the Harry Hines corridor. As the redevelopment progressed, our scope grew to include new switchgear, parking lot and site lighting, interior LED lighting, HVAC circuits, power circuits, and electrical for multiple tenant build-outs.

Over nearly two years, we watched a heavily damaged building come back to life.

We also built a strong working relationship with Lang Real Estate Services, who saw the potential in this property from the beginning. Today, it is a thriving commercial and warehouse space that several businesses call home.
