I had a bad accident on Friday November 8. A car pulled out in front of me after he stopped at a stop sign and I t-boned him totalling his car and my truck. He went to the hospital with minor injuries and I have a badly bruised knee. I am thankful that is all I had as it was an awful hard hit. Now I'm out looking for another vehicle.

It is Cleanup Season
March is notoriously unpredictable. Shrubs can be crusty with snow on the first of the month, and then, a couple of weeks later, temperatures can warm up enough for flower and leaf buds to show signs of life.

Still, some early spring cleanup tasks are sure things this time of year. So go ahead and remove burlap from trees and shrubs as the weather warms. Prune away winter-killed branches to make room for new growth. Cut back spent perennials and pull up old annuals if you didn't get around to it last fall. Then look around. "April" is a good times to take stock of your yard and see if it's time to thin out crowded beds and do some transplanting to fill in bare spot

FUn Facts: turf at the proper height is vital to lawn health, but ideal height varies based on grass type, time of year, and growing conditions. Grass requires more frequent mowing during its peak growth period.

The most important mowing rule is never to remove more than one-third of the leaf surface at any one mowing. In other words, determine the ideal height for your grass and allow grass to grow one-third higher. To set mower height, place it on a flat surface and measure the distance from the ground to the blade.

For cool-season turf, such as fescue or Kentucky , active growth occurs during spring and fall. Typical cool-season grass height range: 2.5–4 inches.

For warm-season grasses, including zoysia and Bermudagrass, peak growth occurs during summer. Typical warm-season grass height range: 1–3 inches.

During periods of peak growth, expect to mow once every 5–7 days. Conversely, during times of slowest growth, you’ll mow less, if at all.

A healthy lawn is definitely a pleasing site for most people as they are walking out their front door or into their backyard. The lush green appearance and crisp edged cuts always have a soft spot in any landscaper’s heart. Lawns, however, are often mistreated in regards to the amount of water they truly need.

A lot of homeowners around the country will water their grass to the point where it is over saturated while others will rarely water their grass and allow for rain to be the only source of water their grass gets.

During normal seasons, grass usually will need about an inch of water on a weekly basis to keep up their fresh green coloring as well as their continuing growing capabilities. Summer months, however, will find very intense heat and humid conditions that will alter your grass’s natural inhibitors which will cause the lawn to grow at above normal rates.
