Contractors have to stick together out here. When I saw a fellow tradesman sweating it out next door, I swung by the gas station and grabbed him a cold water. A small gesture, but it meant a lot — he even posted about it and shouted out Shoreline Services.

Well… the outdoor water heater closet decided it wanted to be a swimming pool. The customer had a 65‑gallon electric water heater in there — and since those aren’t made anymore for residential homes, it was officially time for an upgrade.

We teamed up with a restoration crew and coordinated the whole thing like a relay race: water heater out ➜ restoration team in for cleanup and mold prevention ➜ new water heater installed once the space was safe and dry.

To replace the old 65‑gallon unit, we installed a 50‑gallon heater with a tank booster kit on top. That booster helps make up for the missing 15 gallons and gives the homeowner nearly the same hot‑water output as before — all brought up to current code.

Leak handled. Mold prevented. Hot water restored. Teamwork makes the steam work. 🔧🔥

Had a customer with one of those old-school thermal expansion valves — the kind that’s basically famous for failing at the worst possible moment. Instead of waiting for the “surprise leak of 2026,” they made the smart call and had me redo the whole top end of the water heater before trouble started.

• Re-piped the hot and cold sides on top of the heater
