🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ AND SHARE 🚨

The Gulf County Sheriff's Office wants to make the community aware of a disturbing scam that has been reported in our area.
Victims are receiving text messages containing a photo or video, followed by a threatening message. The scammers claim that if the victim does not send money or gift cards, violence will occur—often including personal information like the victim’s home address to make the threat seem more believable.

This is a scare tactic designed to extort money. We want to stress that these messages are fraudulent, and no credible threats have been linked to these scams.

Do NOT send money or gift cards.
Do NOT click any links or download attachments.
Report the message to the GCSO at (850) 227-1115.
