Job Summary:
Essential Roofing is growing and we are currently seeking a full-time Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team in Paramount, CA. Our ideal candidate will have estimating experience working in the commercial roofing industry. In this role, you will work with sales and management to create bids, quotes, and proposals/scope of work for commercial roofing projects. This is a fantastic opportunity with tremendous upside.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with the owner to prepare competitive job estimates by interpreting drawings, bid documents, performing take-offs for labor, equipment, and cost of materials.
Proficiency using architectural plan tools to decipher accurate measurements and be able to convert this information into the needed materials and labor to accurately estimate the projects.
Attend pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates.
Analyze project plans, specs, and details.
Analyze project financials and labor costs.
Create proposals and submit project bids in accordance with company bidding procedures, with essential overall cost accuracy.
Review all proposals, contracts, and quotes for accuracy.
Prepare and follow up on quotes.
Write up work orders and prepare material order sheets.
Prepare and maintain a directory of product suppliers.
Review bid opportunities and advise on the selection of bids to pursue.
Prepare construction progress schedules.
Participate in post-job review/analysis of actual costs to estimated costs through job cost system for use on future projects.
Meet sales and performance goals.
Ability to be a team player and work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience:
3-5 years of estimating experience in the commercial roofing industry.
3-5 years of experience using construction estimating software (e.g. The EDGE construction estimating software highly desired).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs.
Strong analytical abilities.
Strong computer skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to make sound decisions and problem solve.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
