Its often said that PEX pipe does not burst. As pictured it does. However pex is still a better choice over copper for repairs. As it can expand and return to its normal shape in most cases.

I opened a wall today to do a repair on a burst copper waterline and found this beauty pic1. This is a 4 way tee use for irrigation or water supply. What make this problematic is the washer and vanity drains run into each other. The second pic is the fitting that should have been used.
