Making reduction pruning cuts to manage the size of a penthouse River Birch on the edge of garden 100 feet up...(tree only 25 feet though). Arborpolitan arborist Fritz Huber ties into 2 points on the tree to be able to work near the edge.

Arborpolitan worked with Red Hook Farms today to help rehabilitate the last American Elm in the area after the roots were severed during playground installation.

Elms are well known at compartmentalizing their wounds by quickly closing up vascular tissues, porous radial wood, and covering over the wound.

We hope to monitor this tree for years to come. Urban disruption of roots is one of the top reasons trees fail in NYC
