The Denim Day campaign began in 1992 in Italy after an 18-year-old woman was r***d by her driving instructor. The conviction of her ra**st was wrongfully overturned when the Italian Supreme Court decided that the girl must have consented to s*x because she was wearing tight jeans and would have had to help the perpetrator remove them. The next day, women in the Italian Parliament wore denim jeans in support of the woman and in protest of the Supreme Court’s ruling. This year on April 26th, the Canyon Creek Services Violence Prevention Coalition is joining with organizations across the globe to host a Denim Day Campaign. Canyon Creek Services - CCS
