These past few weeks have reminded us why we do what we do.

We are not only getting air conditioners cooling again, we are doing our best to educate homeowners about what causes certain issues and why they happen.

Beyond the work itself, we have realized that this business is a platform that allows us to help people in their time of need, share our faith, and build genuine friendships along the way.

If we have missed your call or haven't received your messages because we were working in an area with poor cell service, please know it was not intentional. There are only so many hours in a day, and we are doing our best to manage our time wisely and prioritize every call.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and continued support of Harper's Heating and Cooling. We are truly grateful for each of you.

Clarifying my last post:

To our loyal customers: you know who you are, and please know that the last post was not directed at you. Your continued trust, support, and loyalty have never gone unnoticed, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you. Sometimes working in this heat can become overwhelming, and frustrations can get the best of us. I read all the comments on my last post, and they were truly a blessing. Reading them reminded us just how much we are appreciated. Thank you for your kind words, patience, and understanding.

Some changes going forward

I'm taking a breather from social media and stepping back from being at everyone's Beck and call. My time outside of work belongs to me and my family now. Business as usual du
ring reasonable working hours.

I've learned that no matter how much you give, you can't buy loyalty. I've returned calls within 3 minutes of missing them, only to hear the work already went to someone else. I've given up nights and holidays for people who set us aside the moment something else came along.

I'll still bend over backwards for you, during reasonable working hours. Outside of those, call someone else.

Thank you all.

Another long weekend of service calls is in the books.

We want to take a moment to thank all of our customers for your patience, support, and, in many cases, your friendship. This work can be strenuous, both mentally and physically, and many of you see me at my best, my worst, and everywhere in between.

For that, I am truly grateful.

Have a blessed Sunday evening and a great week ahead.

Rainy summer perk: your AC is getting a little help from Mother Nature.

Cool rain can help lower the temperature around the outdoor condenser and even cool the coil, making it easier for the system to release heat.

The only catch is all that moisture means your AC may still be working hard to pull humidity out of the air.

So while the rain might give your AC a break on temperature, the humidity is still keeping it busy.

Very important to keep outdoor coils cleaned and change indoor filters regularly.

This causes 95% of part failures, high utility bills, and reduced efficiency.

Having your central units cleaned twice a year is extremely important.

Regularly changing filters and cleaning coils are basic proactive measures that help extend the life of your central units.

You've probably heard: "Just fix it yourself, it's only a $20 capacitor"

But the real questions are:

1. What caused the failure in the first place?

2. How can it be prevented from happening again?

3. Why does an HVAC company charge more than the cost of the part?

Those are fair questions. But a lot of what homeowners believe comes from only seeing the symptom, not the root cause.

The truth is, while capacitors and refrigerant issues are common, simply replacing a part does not always fix the problem.

A technicians true job is not just to replace a part, it's to inform the homeowner, identify the root cause, explain the risk, and try to help the issue from happening again.

At the same time, no matter how well a system is maintained or how much you do to protect it, some failures simply cannot be prevented. Parts wear out, systems age, and unexpected breakdowns do happen.

What matters is doing everything possible to reduce the chances of major failures and catching problems before they become bigger and more expensive.

I'm not against anyone working on their own unit. But safety has to come first.

If someone is mechanically inclined, I'm usually willing to help guide them. Still even the most common repairs often need a trained technicians eye to determine why the part failed in the first place.

If the root cause is missed, the same issue can happen again, and over time, that can lead to a system failure that might have been prevented.

Why HVAC companies charge more than the cost of the part is a separate conversation, one that involves overhead, liability, training, diagnostics, and the realities of the supply chain.

This will be the hottest week we have experienced this year. Melissa Brown Harper and I have been working late nights to serve each of you as best we can. While the extreme weather creates challenges, we remain committed to being there for you when you need us most.

We also encourage everyone to change their filters regularly and, if possible, spray off outside coils with water. This simple maintenance step can help prevent future inconvenience.

If you need to schedule a service call please call 7316143349

Thank you all and God Bless
