It’s hard to fathom the extent of damage caused by last year’s fires. GoogleMaps is an easy reminder, and one that haunts us every time we open our browser to begin our research on a new site. It’s important to remember that each piece of vacant land was once home to a family, a history, a legacy. It was a child’s, a parent’s, a grandparent’s whole world.

We’ve met with over a hundred affected families. We’ve walked over fifty sites. Everyone’s story is different but has one common thread: no one saw this coming at a scale like this. Sustainable design is not just about environmentally friendly materials. It’s about intelligent design, working as a community to be able to withstand the tests of time and the forces of nature. So that should this ever happen again, we’ll be ready.

Our hearts are with all those affected, especially on days like today. We will continue to work hard so you can come home soon ❤️

2025 was a unique and humbling year for Tyler+Kelly Architecture. The Eaton and Palisades fires destroyed thousands of structures before our very eyes. TKA made the conscious decision to pivot from our multi-family endeavors and place focus on rebuilding these communities. We met personally with over 100 affected families and committed to as many rebuild projects as our small team could support. We signed our first rebuild within two days after the fire, and since then have created custom home designs for nearly 20 families, many of which have already broken ground. This work has reaffirmed why we do what we do; we’re looking forward to 2026 and helping our cherished neighborhoods rebuild.

Re*****on is just one of many spec homes Tyler+Kelly Architecture has designed for the master planned community of Hollow Point Ranch in Choctaw, OK. Situated on an expansive five acre estate, Re*****on’s contemporary farmhouse style embraces the surrounding landscape with expansive covered porches and stone accent walls that give the home a feeling of security and permanence.

TKA sends our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the wildfires last week. Like so many of you, we have watched in disbelief as our worst fears are realized. The toll this disaster has had on our local community is incomprehensible.

The resilience of the Altadena community in particular has been shown through the immense relief efforts already underway. Tyler+Kelly Architecture is prepared to guide & support the community by collaborating with local
leadership to ensure that rebuilding efforts align with the needs of the community. We will advocate through the AIA Pasadena-Foothill Chapter to preserve the beloved culture & spirit of Altadena.

In the coming days, TKA will be updating its website and assembling a guide with local resources and contacts of who can best assist homeowners through every step of the process. If you or someone you know have been affected by the fire & have any questions about rebuilding, please do not hesitate to reach out via email ([email protected]) or via phone (626-396-9599).

We are here to help in any way we can.

With deepest sympathy and commitment,

Rob, Jon, & the TKA Team

💫 We wish you a Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year!

This year was a fun one for Tyler+Kelly Architecture. From Corona del Mar to La Cañada, a number of our clients are cozying up in their newly finished custom homes. Dirt is moving and man-made lakes are taking form at our 2,000-acre master plan in Oklahoma. We are working on a handful of mixed-use multi-family projects too: a 20-unit & a 75-unit in Pasadena, a 58-unit in San Diego, and a 94-unit in San Gabriel, to name a few. We earned a Gold Nugget Award of Merit and also claimed the distinction of Best Architect from Pasadena Weekly for the second year. The TKA team wishes you a wonderful end to 2024 and a great start to 2025!
