Yes shop class (7th and 8th grade) was fun and it was across from the cafeteria. In high school drafting was the most useful course I took. I might send some other pictures of TV Stand being built and completed. I will tell you its made with mahogany with curly maple accents. It has two drawers and I'm making the pulls out of curly maple.

I'm currently working on a TV stand. I took a couple pictures showing how I make a dovetail drawer. I've made almost all of my drawers this way. None of them have ever failed. It's the best way to make a drawer outside of hand cutting dovetails. These dovetails are cut with a router and a jig with a special bit.

Todays picture is a curly maple hutch I made in 2002. It went to a Central Park West, NYC address. Even though I called it a hutch it's actuality a desk. The client wanted the desk in her living and didn't want anybody to know she worked at home. If you were to open doors you would see a spot for CPU, printer, monitor, keyboard and a drawer for paper. I also built in a number of passages for wires.
