1. Layout Plan. 📐 Before choosing cabinets and finishes, make sure the layout works for how you actually use your kitchen.

2. Plan for enough storage. 🗄️
It’s easy to focus on how pretty the cabinets will look and forget how much you actually need to store. Consider deep drawers, pantry space, pull-outs, and where your everyday appliances will go.

3. Choose materials for real life. 🏠
Your kitchen needs to look good and hold up to everyday use. Think about durability, maintenance, moisture, spills, pets, kids, and how much upkeep you’re willing to do.

4. Good Lighting. 💡
Good kitchen lighting makes a huge difference. Plan for a combination of general lighting, task lighting over work areas, and accent lighting to highlight the design.

5. Budget for the details. 💰
Cabinets and countertops aren’t the only costs. Flooring, backsplash, lighting, plumbing, electrical, hardware, appliances, and those little finishing touches can add up quickly.
