It’s that time of year again, so here’s my yearly reminder.

When the door knockers start showing up after a storm telling you that you’ve got damage before they’ve even stepped foot on your roof, be careful. You do not have to sign anything just for someone to inspect your roof.

A lot of these companies use slick sales tactics, and if you sign before reading the fine print, you may be signing a contract without realizing it—especially whatever is printed on the back.

If you think you might have damage, or you just want to be sure everything looks good, call a local company you know and trust.

Be careful as they have many tricks and if you sign anything, READ THE FINE PRINT (especially on the back!), it’s almost always a contract.
