Payette, the leaves are almost down, which makes right now the easiest time all year to see what your trees are hiding. Take five minutes and walk your yard:

1. Look up at any limb hanging over your roof, garage, or fence. Those are the ones that come down with snow and wind.
2. Look for dead branches with no leaves or buds and bark falling off.
3. Look for cracks or splits where big limbs meet the trunk.
4. Check for any tree that's started leaning toward the house.
