This is a natural survival response that helps trees conserve water during stressful conditions. The good news? If we receive some rainfall and cooler temperatures soon, many trees should recover just fine.

Watering your lawn every day in the summer may be doing more harm than good.

Frequent, shallow watering encourages weak root systems and can lead to disease. Water deeply and infrequently, applying about 1 inch of water per week, including rainfall, spread over two or three irrigation events. Watering in the early morning is ideal.
