Quick Washing GuideStep
1: Turn Off System: Shut off your pool pump entirely. Open the air relief valve on top of the filter tank to safely release internal pressure, then remove the drain plug.
Step 2: Remove Cartridges: Remove the clamp or locking ring, lift the housing lid, and pull the cartridges out carefully.
Step 3: Hose Down: Using a garden hose with a medium-pressure spray nozzle, spray the cartridges from top to bottom at a 45-degree angle. Ensure the water stream pushes debris completely out from between the pleats.
Step 4: Deep Soak (If Needed): If the filters are caked with oil, lotion, or scale, soak them overnight in a bucket of water mixed with a specific cartridge cleaner or a 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar.
Step 5: Reassemble & Restart: Rinse the cleaned filters one last time. Check the tank O-ring for cracks (apply pool-safe lubricant if dry), place the filters back into the grooves, seal the housing, and start the pool pump.
