🎨 THE STORY BEHIND ZEE’S PAINTING LLC
When you see a Zee’s Painting sign in a yard, a freshly painted home, or one of our trucks going down the road, you’re seeing a lot more than another painting company.
You’re seeing something I’ve spent years building.
My name is Zakkary “Zee” Nilles, owner of Zee’s Painting LLC.
Painting has been part of my life since I was a kid. I’m a third-generation painter, and I started learning the trade alongside my dad when I was only 8 years old.
Back then, I obviously wasn’t thinking about owning a company someday.
I was just learning.
How to prep something correctly.
How to hold a brush.
How much the little details matter.
And most importantly—how your name means something when you put it behind your work.
Years later, those lessons became Zee’s Painting LLC.
I started this company in 2019 with a simple goal: build a local painting company people could trust and create something my family could be proud of.
It hasn’t always been easy.
There have been long days, 12-hour projects, brutal Illinois heat, ladders that seemed to never end, estimates after work, paperwork late at night, weather delays, equipment problems, jobs that didn’t go as planned, and plenty of lessons learned the hard way.
But then there are moments that make all of it worth it.
Walking through a neighborhood and seeing homes we painted years ago.
Getting calls because a previous customer recommended us.
Having people tell their friends and neighbors, “Call Zee.”
And watching a small local business continue to grow because people in our community chose to support it.
Today, Zee’s Painting serves homeowners and businesses throughout Rockford, Pecatonica, Winnebago, Lake Summerset and surrounding communities, providing professional interior and exterior painting, staining, wallpaper removal, pressure washing, and more.
But no matter how much this company grows, I never want it to lose what got us here.
Quality work.
Attention to detail.
Treating people right.
Standing behind our name.
Because Zee’s Painting isn’t some giant corporation.
There’s a real family behind the name.
There’s a real person answering the phone, preparing the estimate, showing up to your property and putting his reputation behind the finished product.
And every time someone hires us, recommends us, shares one of our posts, leaves a review, or even simply tells somebody about Zee’s Painting—you’re helping a local family-owned business continue doing what we love.
So I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Zee’s Painting over the years.
Whether you hired us once, have used us multiple times, recommended us to a neighbor, or have simply followed along and watched us grow…
