Some of the best business conversations happen away from the office.

Our Birmingham and Tuscaloosa Business Development teams came together recently at Selwood Farm for a day of s***t shooting with some of our valued clients. Property managers, insurance agents, and first responders all in one place, sharing a great day together.

When the call comes in, we move.

Our Disaster Recovery Team in Texas recently responded to a large fire loss at a four-story office building while the fire department was still on site. The scope of what our team walked into was significant.

70,000 square feet of structure were affected by smoke and soot across all four floors. 15,000 square feet of water damage on the first and second floors. 14 tenant suites requiring individual attention for contents evaluation, cleaning, and pack out.

Here is what our team did from the moment we arrived. We established environmental control of the entire interior using a desiccant and air conditioning combination to stabilize atmospheric conditions. We completed emergency extraction and muck out. Demo and removal of impacted building materials is currently in progress. And we are actively working with each tenant in the building on their specific contents and cleaning needs.

This is what large-loss commercial restoration looks like when it is done right. Fast response, organized ex*****on, and a team that can scale to meet the size of the job without missing a detail.

Meet Ivy and Madison from our SERVPRO of Birmingham team, who traveled to SERVPRO of Tuscaloosa to help out when they were needed. Full PPE, mop in hand, sprayer locked and loaded. Whatever the job calls for, they show up prepared and ready to handle it.

Severe weather is moving into Central Alabama today, and our team is monitoring it closely.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued an Enhanced Risk level 3 of 5 for parts of Central and Southwest Alabama, including Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Severe storms are expected to develop as early as 1:00 PM with the highest threat window running from 3:00 PM through midnight. Threats include tornadoes, strong straight-line winds, and large hail.

Please stay weather-aware today. Have a plan, stay connected to local alerts, and take shelter immediately if warnings are issued in your area.
