Oddly, the newer hydrocarbon refrigerants bring out the Pyro in me 😆
This is a blend of R290 (Propane) and R170 (Ethane) in a ULT freezer getting a new compressor.
I usually release under controlled flame as I can purge quicker (and hotter)... vs risking an explosion. Now you know what will happen should a live wire short out to a copper refrigerant line! It burned for a good 4-5min

Here's a comparison between a lab-grade auto-defrost -20c freezer (Revco) and a domestic type white Frigidaire... same probe in the same buffered glycol bottle. Pretty sure the Revco wins in stability. The monitoring system is the WiFi-based Comark RF300 ‐ which we're a master distributor for 😁

And that's why we're in business! It's mechanical so it's not an "if" but "when" it fails and are you prepared by having backup freezer or plan?

The last shots at one clinic were given at about 3:45 a.m., out on the street, with literally no time to spare.

I think we need a bigger shop (and hauler)... 5 of 10 -80s showing up to be inspected, repaired and certified before being relocated to their new homes, likely storing Pfizer's Covid vaccine or research product.
*needed* - part-time employee good at organizing and who's good at playing Tetris (that's a joke - maybe 🤔😄)

Lucky isn't the prettiest model out there, but he can rebuild a -80c very freezer well! And we don't just do ultra-low freezers either ☃️
