We completely overhauled the roof and skylight system of this custom build in Vestavia a few weeks back. This home, built in 1990, still had its original skylights which had been resealed and repaired past the point of no return.

Cardinal installed an all-new Velux system while updating the attic ventilation and correcting several substandard repair issues that had taken place over the years. Of course, the job was topped off with some of GAF’s finest high-definition shingles!

Cardinal had the pleasure of replacing this Dutch-hip style roof a few weeks back in Pelham!

This is considered the slow season in roofing relative to the calm, dry nature of the weather barring an unexpected tropical system. However, it’s also the time roof seals are most susceptible to drying, cracking and wearing due to the prolonged heat of the summer meeting the drought-like conditions of the fall. Feel free to take a look at a recent replacement on a home in Pleasant Grove which was particularly challenging. The customer’s insurance carrier didn’t originally approve the replacement for the wind damage in place and wrote a repair that didn’t even exceed the deductible when it was clear the roof was too old and brittle to repair. I put my 10+ years’ experience as a property adjuster to use to insure the adjuster was making an informed decision that was fair to the customer.

What began as an approved re-inspection turned into an approved replacement without the need to re-inspect based on the documentation I submitted and my ability to convey the facts and cause of the damage in a way insurance responds to. Sometimes, it’s invaluable to get an expert opinion from someone with previous adjuster experience if you’re concerned about your insurance carrier’s findings. I’m always happy to help in that regard.

We just had the pleasure of updating the roofing system of this charming home in Mountain Brook. This customer also opted to do away with her gutter helmets which were obstructing perimeter drainage to instead go with Leafblaster Pro gutter guards as well.

These durable guards don’t attach up onto the roofline and allow for optimal flow even during light rains while still keeping all leaf and pine debris out of gutters and downspouts.
