I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year!

We will be getting back to being busy in the shop this coming week.

In the meantime, here’s a video showing the next step of building some end table legs I did.

In the previous video I’m using my bandsaw to cut out the leg parts into slightly oversized pieces.

In this video I’m using a table router with special bit to make precise, matching, repeatable parts.

I put the template on the slightly oversized parts from the previous steps and the special router bit follows the template to cut perfectly matching pieces.

Merry Christmas

Recently delivered this gorgeous table to a client in the Grimes area.

They were overwhelmed with joy!

This table is about 50” long by 40” wide and nearly 1 3/4” thick.

My clients were wonderful from the beginning to the end of the process.

A couple of the things they said -
That the piece is even more stunning in person than in pictures (pretty much everyone agrees that the pictures are great but nothing compared to in person, just can’t capture all the beauty in pics).
That they appreciated my professionalism and communication throughout the entire process.
To get them a lot of business cards so they can recommend me to everyone they know.

The Iowa Black Walnut used in these pieces has a gorgeous, eye-catching figuring that adds depth and dimension to the appearance. The legs were custom made and taper from top to bottom with each edge having an 1/8” roundover for a distinctive look.

This is a time lapse of me applying the finish to this client commissioned piece.
I’m applying Rubio Monocoat. It really brings the grain patterns and character of the walnut to life while adding excellent protection.
