We build residential and light commercial projects; new homes, additions, decks, and smaller home repairs. Our main focus is driven towards quality craftsmanship, and we put a lot of faith in a very specific group of companies and subcontractors that align with our standards. We are more flexible than a typical builder; we don’t limit options, and we creatively solve challenging design obstacles.
We are quick to advise against using what we feel are cheap or sub-standard products, and the clients that best appreciate our value have previous experience with a profit driven builder, and the disappointment and frustration associated with call backs and premature maintenance issues. We love the pursuit of quality, and not just quality in and of itself, but well fit “perfect solutions”. In the building method and building material choices we are continually presented with, if we discover a stronger, more attractive, or better longevity solution; then we choose it! Often we end up taking a little loss because we purchase and install more than the client expects choosing to surpass our budget at our expense not our clients; and we do this even in areas of the house that probably won’t be seen or ever fully appreciated by the property owners. we are believers that the best solution to a problem is most likely the one that is more labor intensive, includes the more expensive material choice, and has the more difficult installation method. We risk not getting jobs, and are occasionally dismissed during the bid stage because we look past the temporary solution the client envisions, and submit a price and scope of work based on what the underlying long-term solution should be. What sets us apart from our competition is Jason. His presence, unique personality, and character traits collectively braid into the single element that causes MacLeod Construction to deliver a superior building experience. You hear of Jason, you want Jason, you pay for Jason, Jason makes the difference. Got Jason?
*Communication -We understand what is often difficult for a client to communicate. As a husband and wife are trying to verbalize their ideas and expectations using an unfamiliar language of construction terms; we quickly and precisely see the core elements of what each person is expecting out of this project and what is important to each person. Jason can then communicate his suggestions and solutions with 3D drawings and photo realistic renders that bring total clarity to what is being discussed, allowing for a much greater level of fine tuning, preventing many unwanted aspects, and avoiding change orders without the additional costs of an architect.
*Creativity We are able to uniquely finesse small space, structural, and functional obstacles. Our sense of scale and proportion aid us in trim and finishing solutions that perfectly dovetail and complement existing structures. In new construction, a continual desire to impress drives us to take a little time and finesse details adding just the right components to pleasantly surpass client’s expectations and elevate the project beyond typical. Fascinated by architecture, Jason can’t watch television, or a move, or even drive down the road without continually scanning buildings, houses, details, proportions, roof pitches, critiquing trim choices, looking at layout and design, learning, solving how things were done, and tucking remarkable solutions and ideas away for use another day.
*Comprehension -We get it. We meet with you, or stand in your house and understand you, how you live, what you need, what you will like, what you won’t like. What are the things that are in your budget? What are the things that are going to push you past your budget? What do you as a client need direction to keep things from getting out of hand? How is all this going to work? How long will this take? We handle every project differently based on every client’s needs. Sure, some of the materials are the same, but the implementation is almost always different.
*Cleanliness -We understands how draining it can be on a family to be in the midst of a construction project, there is dust, a dumpster, men in the house at breakfast, music, mess. It all adds up to overwhelming. We are committed to maintaining a “clean as possible” job-site. If things are clean it really clears away a certain level of stress that can be created, there can be order in demolition, and assurance comes with neatly stacked building materials and supplies. Jason cleans every day, vacuuming every night before the crew leaves, it’s often commented on and repeated by clients talking to their friends.
