Good morning! I will have the last batch of tulips for sale today, Saturday April 18, rain or shine. The tulips will be in the stand at 8 am, until supply lasts, $20 per bundle. I hope you all have enjoyed them this year, it sure went by fast. Normally a few varieties don’t bloom until closer to May but with our unseasonal warm temps, they were ready to go earlier than expected.
Have a great weekend folks!

Good morning folks! I will have tulips for sale Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18, at the farm stand starting at 8 am until supply runs out. This will be the last round of tulips for 2026 season. 🌹
It’s always a bitter sweet moment when tulip season ends. I’m always excited to see them coming up and kind of sad when I look out at an empty field. When it’s their time to shine, they wake up and I pull them rain or shine! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out in pouring down rain, muddy shoes and soaking wet, gently pulling them from the ground. The tulips are placed in the shop on newspaper to dry before being stored in the cooler. Storing tulips wet promotes mold inside the flower bud itself, which makes a pretty unsightly bouquet! Once they’re placed on paper, I drop the temperature in the shop to keep them from opening to quickly. I occasionally use an oscillating fan to dry them quicker. It’s a fine line with tulips but they are so worth it, especially after a long bleak Indiana winter. Their colors are a welcome sight!
Come get your tulips while you can! Check our social media pages for availability or feel free to contact me via text message. Have a great weekend.

Good morning!! Fun fact about tulips. Did you know tulips continue to grow in water? One of the few flowers that actually grows in water. When placing them in a vase, cut them just a bit shorter as within a day or two, they will get longer and leggy looking. This will make your bouquet look neat and tidy.
Have you ever bought tulips and find them slightly limp and think all hope is lost? Don’t give up! Give them a little trim of the stem, drop them in fresh clean water and wallah, they stand straight up! Fascinating and surprisingly resilient little flowers . 🩷
The time has finally arrived! Tulips will go on sale Friday, April 3 at 8 am at the farm stand. I have both single and double tulips available, but because they don’t all bloom at the same time, they will be available in stages. Since they tend to sell out quickly, please feel free to text me for availability. One bunch is $20, we accept cash and Venmo. Hope to see you soon!

Good morning fellow flower friends. Thought I would give an update on the upcoming tulips season, as it’s quickly approaching go time! The tulips are looking great so far, green and purple leaves are poking up from the soil, slightly at a slower pace as compared to last year due to the cold Indiana temps we’ve had this winter. We had lots of snow compared to some of our prior winters. Honestly I would rather have snow than extreme cold with no snow as snow is an excellent insulator for plants! So far they all look great and are progressing nicely.
Tulips can be fickle and persnickety. They need weeks of consistently cold temperatures , water throughout winter, and are notorious for fungal issues that can spread from tulip to tulip in the blink of an eye. So many factors are out of my control, as Mother Nature is truly the boss around here. Tulips are a pretty big gamble, not only financially but for all the man hours I put in, from planting in the fall, till blooming the following spring. Every year I say, “think I’ll pass on tulips for next year” and every year I find myself poking around my vendors website hitting “add to cart” over and over. I’m a sucker for a beautiful tulip, I just can’t resist. 🥰
I’ll be sure and keep you posted on their availability through our social media pages. It’s been a long cold Indiana winter, I’m looking forward to seeing you all enjoy a little color in your lives as tulips seem to put a smile on so many faces. See you soon!

Good morning! Since it’s that time of the year to get spring bulbs in the ground, thought I’d show a couple photos of things to be aware of when planting tulip bulbs.
The picture below shows a tulip bulb that has had some type of pest that’s destroyed the inside of the bulb. Possibly by a mite, weevil, or narcissus bulb fly. They will completely destroy the inside of the bulb. Normally there will be a powdery substance in the bottom of the package that looks like sawdust. That will be your first clue there might be a bad bulb or two. The picture with the box shows exactly that. Not only should you not plant them, don’t put them on your compost pile, pitch them in the trash or return them to the store you purchased them from. Whatever has caused the issue, you certainly don’t want to contaminate your soil with an unwanted pest or fungus.
Slight damage on the outside surface of the bulb are normally ok to plant as long as the bulb is firm to touch. The rule of thumb is, if the bulb is firm, they are usually good to plant!
Now’s the time to get those tulips in the ground. Happy fall planting, spring will be here before you know it!
Best regards
Tracy
