IT'S BACK! After the "Snowcrete" storm in the Valley, I think we are all ready for Spring. With warmer weather quickly rolling in, it's time to start slinging mulch to stay ahead of the weeds. It was fun to see this project come together over the past year through the assistance of Spotswood Garden Club and Tamara’s Design. We always enjoy creating outdoor spaces for our youth to learn in so many different ways. The excitement of the students was worth the labor on our end.

Tis the season of Bushhoggin’!! Enjoyed getting out of town and prepping camping areas / walking paths for Red Wing Roots Festival at Natural Chimneys. We also had to knock down a client’s wildlife food plot to allow the lushy new growth a little room to breathe. We were entertained with a lightning show from Mother Nature to finish out a long day!

Our thoughts & prayers go out to our landscaping partners and friends at Kreider Four Seasons. Hoping no one was hurt and damage was kept to a minimum. A fire is never a good thing but heading into the busiest season of the year makes the situation even more unfortunate 😏 We will keep folks posted if there is any way we can be of assistance in the near future.

This patio makeover was a challenge to say the least. Due to drainage issues and lay of the land the only real sensible option was to make it permeable. With limited access removing existing concrete pad and hauling in new gravel additions required quite a few trips. However, in the end things came together and most importantly clients were tickled with the final product.

Some days the slope is a little slippery than others! Doing a little drainage work on the new run up at the Nut 😝 A few iffy moments with some machinery but managed to knock it out. Ready for Decemburrr! Cheers

This make-over was completed in two phases: phase 1 was tackled this winter as we removed existing shrubbery & less than ideal soil, extended drainage pipes to pop-up emitters to address water issues and the installation of a new cut flagstone walkway. We also brought in better soil for future planting, installed sod around walkway and lastly sprinkled a light mulching to prevent a muddy mess. Once the new walkway was installed and we had a clean slate it was off to the drawing board with design ideas for phase 2. After a few tweaks, we came up with a final plan and we’re able to do the new installation this spring when conditions were favorable and plant availability was ideal. The magic of mulch topped everything off and assists in retaining moisture for the new plantings. Our clients were so pleased with the final product that we have now turned our focus to additional projects out back 🤓 It always makes us feel really good when our ideas & efforts are truly appreciated by clients 😁 Cheers to future make-overs.
