🔥 REAL FIRE HAZARD CAUGHT IN TIME 🔥
This bathroom exhaust fan almost burned a house down.
📛Bathroom exhaust fans are one of the leading causes for thousands of residential fires every year (NFIRS / U.S. Fire Administration).
Old motors overheat, dust ignites, and fires start FAST.
This one melted straight through the grille before anyone noticed.
If your fan is 10+ years old… it’s a HUGE risk.
✔️ Motors overheat
✔️ Bearings seize
✔️ Dust collects on the coils
✔️ High attic temps make it worse
✔️ Fans left running for hours = fire hazard
🚨Important safety reminders:
🚫 Never leave your bathroom fan on unattended
⏱️ Install a timer switch so it shuts off automatically
🔧 Replace fans every 8-10 years
If nothing else, CLEAN your exhaust fans at least ONCE A YEAR.
Never Leave Bathroom Fans Running Unattended
Fire marshals warn:
"Do NOT leave your exhaust fan running when you leave the house or fall asleep."
Most fires occur when the fan is left on "to clear humidity," never shut off, or runs for hours.
Install a Timer Switch - A Simple $30 Fire Prevention Upgrade
A great addition for NEW fans are timer switches
A modern timer switch automatically shuts the fan off after:
10 minutes
20 minutes
30 minutes
60 minutes
Set it and forget it.
No more fans running for hours → drastically reduced fire risk.
A $30 timer switch could prevent a $300,000 house fire.
If your fan is old, noisy, weak, or discolored - it needs to be replaced.
This is a real incident. It could have been a total loss.
If your fan looks old, dirty, noisy, weak, or hasn’t been changed in 8-10 years - IT'S TIME
