Edwards Roofing Co., Inc. is proud to announce Tomas Ravendo as our 2026 Summer Intern.

Tomas is currently a full-time student in the Construction Management Program at UWF while also working full time on one of our Maintenance & Repairs crews.

Over the past several months, Tomas has gained hands-on experience learning the installation and repair side of commercial roofing in the field. This summer, we are excited to help expand his knowledge into the Project Management side of the industry as well.

Investing in the next generation of construction professionals is important to the future of our industry, and we are excited to have Tomas continuing to grow with our team.

Sometimes the biggest roofing problems start with something this small.

This tiny opening in a roof seam may not look like much, but on a commercial roof, even small defects can allow water to work its way into the system over time.

Most building owners never see issues like this because they are often hidden in seams, flashing details, rooftop pe*******ons, edge metal, or beneath rooftop equipment.

That is why regular inspections matter.

Small roofing problems rarely stay small:
• Open seams become leaks
• Moisture becomes insulation damage
• Minor repairs become major expenses

A roof does not have to be actively leaking to have problems developing beneath the surface.

The goal of preventative maintenance is to catch issues early — before they interrupt your building, tenants, operations, or budget.

What could have been simple maintenance becomes a repair.
What could have been a repair becomes a restoration project.
What could have been restored becomes a full replacement.

That is the hidden cost of waiting.

In today’s market, material costs remain high and skilled labor continues to be in demand. Waiting another year does not always create savings — it often reduces options.

The better approach is proactive inspection before the roof forces the decision.

Can the roof be maintained?
Restored?
Coated?
Are drains functioning properly?
Is there hidden moisture in the system?

Those answers matter.
