Schacht Home Improvement finished up a custom designed covered pergola for an amazing customer and longtime friend. We throughly enjoyed working with the homeowners to give them everything they wanted in their outdoor dream space. This pergola features custom stonework around the cedar pillars. The outdoor bar features custom made granite tops to compliment the stonework and cabinets. Accent led lighting was added in the soffits to create a soft downward glow and under the bar tops to make the entertainment ambiance absolutely stunning. We added ceiling fans to keep them cool during the hot summer days. Schacht Home Improvement loves walking away from a project knowing the customers are throughly enjoying the finished product.

Another deck done and just in time for the beginning of summer. We used Tamko Envision composite decking with cedar railing and black aluminum spindles. Tall poles on the edge of the deck will be for sunshade blinds or curtains to help block the evening sun. Also a custom built 8x8 playhouse with a sandbox underneath for some lucky kids of another customer that we just finished up.

Absolutely a gorgeous kitchen remodel that we finished up with a walk out deck. Removed the soffits and had Dennis from Willis Electric redo the electrical/lights. New two tone, ceiling height cabinets from Hamptons Kitchen Design for more storage and cleaner look without the soffits. Moved the refrigerator to open up the kitchen floor plan and allow for more counter space. Tile floor is luxury vinyl tiles with grout. Finished off the project by painting the bottoms of the cabinets, installing a beautiful white subway tile backsplash, and custom hidden led under cabinet lights using a glass touchpad dimmer. Finished results turned out amazing.

A very busy week for Schacht Home Impovement. We started the week prepping stair newel post and railing for primer/stain. In the middle of the week, we finished building a small deck then repaired rafters and roof damage from firefighters post house fire. Finally, we finished the week with removal of a golden oak stair railing and installed new stair post and balusters. Our customer plans to do the finish painting and remove the carpet to continue the hardwood floors upstairs.

Some before and after pictures of a living and dining room makeover for a great customer of ours. She was not happy with the looks of the old fireplace with mirrors and had always wanted built in bookcases so we made it happen. Converted the fireplace over to a convenient gas insert, and we made the bookcases in our shop to her specifications. We ripped up the old carpet and trim, leveled out the floors and then installed luxury vinyl flooring. Cracks in the ceiling were repaired and a fresh coat of paint on the walls and doors. New trim and light fixtures were the final touches and of course that big screen over the fireplace really set it off. We are very pleased with the final outcome of this project.

Here are some before and after photos of a recent fireplace job we finished. We have worked with this family on several other projects including the kitchen, roof, front door replacement along with a wall removed to convert three rooms to one giant living room and way more functional for their family. Skylights were added to bring in more natural light. Redoing the fireplace was the last piece of the puzzle to finish off this room. A high efficiency wood burner insert was installed along with a custom made granite hearth and beautiful stonework to compliment the fireplace. Our customer made the mantel themselves using a live edge maple with color changing led lights to enhance the fireplace. We absolutely love the outcome of this fireplace and love working with this family on their projects!

Catching up on posting some finished projects from the summer. Here is an Airbnb studio apartment that we built for a great customer of ours, Mark Klein from Klein Designs. The apartment is built into his shop in Henry, Illinois. We added a loft above the apartment, so his shop maximizes storage. The outside metal was cut away then added doors and windows along with a heat/ac wall unit. We also added the custom stonework on the outside of his building. So much completed last week! Monday we installed granite counter tops on a small kitchen job. Tuesday we finished up a huge 20x24 deck with Envision composite decking with Westbury aluminum railing. Wednesday and Thursday we installed two skylights that turned a dark living room into a bright inviting space. Finished off Friday tiling a small basement shower with white subway tile.

Back to a master suite room addition in West Peoria to finish up a custom built-in sauna. We started with 2x4 construction and added spray foam for superior insulation. Then we topped the insulation with foil paper designed for saunas. A heater was installed with touchpad controls. Waterproof vinyl flooring was added to make for easy cleanup after use. This was an unique project that we don’t get to build everyday. This project turned out amazing!
