Over the last six months, Corboelectric has been helping local residence, inspect repair and upgrade the electrical system to their home. Most of these repairs came when clients called us inquiring about generators, car chargers, outdoor electric for their pool panels, or merely wanting to upgrade their service.. We got a call this week about water coming into a customer panel, after we arrived on site realize of the exterior of there service was taking on through the service cable on the side of the house. This is something that the average customer would never noticed without having us over.  We immediately remove the damage cable and installed a brand new service line into the meter pan and seal the outside service to prevent water from coming in and had their power back on within hours. Water going into your electrical panel is very common on homes with older electrical services and can be a major fire hazard. Here are a couple of before and after pictures from an emergency call we got about a fire in a customers electrical panel last week during the storm. After assessing the situation, we realized that water was coming in from the exterior, incoming part of the service by the meter pan and running down into the panel, which eventually caused a fire. Most customers don’t realize that the exterior of your service coming in is as important as the condition of your electrical box in your basement for your safety . Just because something works doesn’t mean that it’s safe. We had these customers back on within 24 hours of the fire department and utility leaving the site so that they would have heat and safety back in their home so they can move in. New Rivian electric vehicle charging station installed for a customer in Wayne New Jersey. This job proved to be a little more difficult than most with there electrical panel being on the other side of the house and in a finished basement. It was a long day for the crew, but by the end of the day we had installed a new 100 amp subpanel, new electrical car charger and mobile back up generator kit so they are never going to be with out power .
