Our hearts are with the family and friends of Maj. Brad Hovey as they say their final goodbye today. All who knew him, knew he was truly a salt of the earth human. Thank you for your service and your friendship, Brad.

🌞 Hot weather lawn tips (that might surprise you!):

The best thing you can do for your grass right now isn't mowing it shorter—it's actually the opposite!

✔️ Water in the morning
- you probably already know this one. You are so smart!

✔️ Keep your grass a little taller
- longer grass helps shade the soil and retain moisture.

✔️ Leave clippings when possible
- the clippings also help protect the ground and hold much needed moisture.

✔️ Skip the fertilizer until cooler weather returns
- you may think it helps to feed/fuel your grass but it actually adds unnecessary stress to the ground

A little preventative care now can help your yard stay green, healthy, and beautiful all summer long!

🌿 Think you could identify poison ivy? 🌿

Most people know the saying, "Leaves of three, let it be!" But poison ivy can be surprisingly easy to miss.

Here are a few quick facts:

☘️ Poison ivy usually grows in clusters of three leaflets.
☘️ The leaves can be shiny or dull and may have smooth or jagged edges.
☘️ It can grow as a vine, ground cover, or shrub.
☘️ The oil that causes the rash (urushiol) can remain active on clothing, tools, and pet fur.
☘️ Even dead poison ivy plants can still cause a reaction.
