Anybody can buy equipment.

A sewer machine can be purchased.

A camera can be purchased.

A jetter can be purchased.

What can’t be purchased is experience.

For over 25 years I’ve learned from mentors, customers, mistakes, successes, and thousands of sewer and drain calls across Northeast Wisconsin.

One thing I’ve learned is that knowledge is meant to be shared.

This photo was taken years ago during a community event where we were teaching kids how plumbing works. It wasn’t about selling anything. It was about helping people understand something most never think about until there’s a problem.

The trades need good people.

The community needs good people.

And experience only stays alive when it’s passed on to the next generation.

Big congratulations to the new ownership group at Whitetail Downs Country Club in Crivitz (formerly De Smidts) on this exciting venture.

We appreciate the opportunity to help with a recent drain issue and want to thank Luke and the crew for putting their trust in us.

It’s always great seeing longtime local establishments continue forward with new energy and investment behind them. As a family business ourselves, we have a lot of respect for people willing to take that leap.

Well… we survived Memorial Day weekend. 😅🇺🇸
Now comes the part most people don’t think about…”

Garbage disposals that worked overtime.
Cabins opening up after sitting all winter.
Kids home more. Guests over more.
Tree roots growing fast with all the spring moisture.
And drains that were “almost plugged” before the holiday… finally giving up.

And honestly… that means a lot.

Straight Flush Sewer isn’t a giant operation with huge crews and dozens of trucks.

Most days it’s just one man, years of experience, a massive investment in equipment, and an obsession with doing the job right.

We compete against companies much bigger than us every single day — and still continue to stand toe-to-toe because knowledge, work ethic, and experience still matter.

This feels a little like David vs. Goliath.

Not because we’re looking for sympathy…

How cool is this?

Today Straight Flush Sewer LLC got called out to work at Nutrition Service Company Inc. — a massive agricultural facility over 50 miles from our home base.

The crazy part?
When they searched Google for someone to help with a backed up drain… WE were the company that popped up first.

That says a lot.

Not just about marketing or Google rankings — but about trust, reputation, and years of showing up ready to solve problems when people need help.

Facilities like this don’t have time for guesswork or repeat problems. They need somebody who can diagnose the issue, adapt quickly, and get things moving again.

Pretty humbling for a local company from Peshtigo to get the opportunity to help operations at a place this impressive.

As septic systems have become more advanced, they’ve also become much better at protecting the drain field from solids and debris.

That’s where filters like this come in. 👇

Many newer septic systems have an outlet filter designed to stop toilet paper, wipes, and floating solids from reaching the drain field. That protection is a GOOD thing… but the filter needs occasional cleaning.

A plugged septic filter can make an entire house act like the septic tank is full:
• slow drains
• gurgling toilets
• sewage backup
• standing water near floor drains

A lot of homeowners end up paying for a septic pumping when the real issue is simply a plugged filter.

In many cases, the fix is:
✔ pull the filter
✔ wash it off
✔ slide it back in

We normally recommend checking and cleaning septic filters in the spring and fall.

The good news?
It’s something many homeowners can easily learn to do themselves and save money.

If customers would rather have us handle it twice a year, we absolutely can — but we always take the time to show homeowners how the system works so they understand what’s going on and can make the best decision for themselves.

and certain jobs they’d rather avoid. 😅

Around here?
We’ll take the tough ones, the messy ones, the emergency ones…
PLUS the kitchen sink.”

And honestly?
Kitchen sinks are some of the most common calls we run into.

Grease. Food buildup. Coffee grounds. Sludge.
Most kitchen drains don’t suddenly plug overnight — they slowly choke down over years of use.

Anybody can poke a small hole through a drain and get the water moving.
We prefer to CLEAN them.

Over the years, we’ve developed our own process that we feel gives customers the best bang for the buck — removing as much buildup as possible so the line stays flowing longer, not just long enough to cash a check.

That’s where experience matters.
Knowing:
• what cable to use
• what cutter to use
• how far to clean
• when a line needs more than a quick ‘poke-and-go’
• and how to solve the problem without wasting your money

PVC with proper cleanouts?
Mobile homes with accessible lines?
Sometimes those are straightforward gravy jobs.

Other times… that “simple sink” turns into a bigger sewer or venting issue hiding underneath.

Either way, our goal stays the same:
