Who knew we had so many talented artists in the Cagwin Fam? We recently had a poster contest, asking our team to get creative, enlist their family members, and create a poster answering the question: "Why does safety come first 365 Days a Year?"

We'd like to congratulate Melanie Rodriguez (daughter of Julio Rodriguez) on her winning design and all of our employees and family that participated. Great Job!

We gamified our w**d management work at the Stanly Ranch Resort in August!
Dividing the site and our crews into 3 zones, we aimed for zero w**ds over the 10 acre site in just a three week period. Our successful crews were rewarded with gift cards when the latest site inspection made it a real struggle to find ANY w**ds on the property.

A big thank you to our leaders, Bronson Macler and Evelio Rocha Jr., and their crews for the impressive work and continued dedication to w**d control improvements on all of our job sites!

Nothing brightens a room & the spirit like beautiful flowers. When a recent project had extra flowers, we made our way directly to the Senior Center in Vacaville to donate for table decorations. We hope these flowers help put a smile on some special faces in our community.

‘Tis the Season!

Mistletoe’s romantic association with one of our most beloved holidays dates back centuries. It’s evergreen leaves remain throughout the year decorating the canopies of the deciduous trees that it inhabits long after they have defoliated, symbolizing everlasting love and vitality.

While the tradition is still cherished, mistletoe tends to be a pest and an eyesore on trees in our built environment; a parasitic plant that leeches vital nutrients and water from it’s hosts which when coupled with other stressors can lead to a tree’s early demise. Even it’s genus name, Phoradendron, literally means “thief of the tree”.

Mistletoe isn’t all bad, though. In fact, it is a keystone species, providing food and shelter for innumerous species of native forest creatures and is also the primary source of nutrition for many woodland bird species.
