Perfect day for my annual fall pilgrimage to the top of Avalanche Mountain. Stunning views and a beautiful walk through the woods. There's plenty to be done to get gardens ready for winter, but not today. I hope you all get out and enjoy these precious days of fall!

Our last native plant sale of the season was Saturday, October 10, and we're feeling the seasonal shift as the pace at the farm slows down. What a summer it's been! Thanks to all of you who've supported us this season and throughout this journey. We appreciate you more than you know!

We'll continue to take email orders for native plants through late fall, and you can continue to get yours in the ground well into November. Meanwhile, plans for 2027 are already underway. We welcome your suggestions, and please let us know if there are plants on your wish list that you'd like us to consider adding. Nothing pleases us more than helping you to create a garden you love, where your plants thrive and support the wild creatures around your home.

November pressed and dried flower classes are coming up soon too! I'll be posting details and registration info in the next couple of days. In the meantime, enjoy these fall days as autumn leaves reach peak color. Such astonishing beauty all around us!

It contains a list of native plants we will have available at our sale on Saturday (Oct 10 from 9 until 1) and via email order afterward. Remember, you can still plant well into November. It's hard to get enough of these luscious dahlias! They will only be with us for a short time longer, as one cold night may bring an end to them for the season. For now, I'm enjoying each and every bloom!

What a joy and an honor to be included in the Michigan Garden Clubs District 5 Fall Meeting yesterday at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor. 180+ friendly gardeners, all sharing a passion for plants, flowers, and the environment. Great conversations with friends old and new, and a beautiful day spent together in a picture perfect setting on Lake Michigan. Thank you to the organizers for a job well done, and to everyone who made this event possible. It could not have been better!

Our next U-Pick event is coming up on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 10 -1, and our flowers have never looked better! We have gorgeous zinnias in a rainbow of colors. Black-eyed Susans and sunflowers are popping, including furry, cute-as-a button teddy bear sunflowers. Bring the kids! Bring your mom, your sister, your best friend! Bouquets start at just $10 and supplies are provided. We're at 1298 E Gruler Road in Petoskey. Look for the signs and turn in by the flower stand. Hope to see you here!

Bright flowers for a rainy grey morning. Calendula, larkspur, scabiosa, basil, and tiny marigolds. 'Tis the season of golds and purples with goldenrod and asters soon joining the mix. We're on the cusp of fall, my favorite of all seasons. Bring it on!

Dahlias to brighten a rainy day. These late season beauties will bloom for weeks into the fall, until the weather turns cold. Some of the best flowers of the season arrive in late August and September!

I started buying some seeds for flowers and herbs from Botanical Interests this season. I'm still learning about them but they've been recommended by others. In any case, this looks like a good deal so I'm passing it on!
