That grass is poppin’ with that much rain! 🌧️ 🙏🏼

Btw for my almost 40 year olds or those who just crossed over to 40’s. This was 26 years ago!

WOAH NELLY, WE'VE GOT RAIN COMING!
- Many of the mid-range models suggest 3-6" of rain is on the way for the last part of May and it starts TODAY.
- Typically, I would hesitate to post this... BUT, there's REALLY good agreement amongst models. I've never been so happy to see a rain chart light up like this!

Soil Temps: why are they important?

We’ve jumped to around 62 degrees- this means it’s prime application for our area.

Soil temperatures must be monitored closely because it is the single most accurate indicator of when w**ds like crabgrass and Poa annua begin to germinate.

55°F is the magic number. Once soils consistently hit this temperature for a few days, it's go-time for germination. If you're late with your pre-emergent, you're essentially inviting those w**ds in for a lawn party.

~55°F soil temperature (measured 2–4 inches deep) is the minimum threshold for spring pre-emergent activation. This temperature signals the beginning of germination for warm-season annual w**ds like crabgrass.

~The ideal application window lies between 55°F and 70°F, when the herbicide can form a barrier just as w**d seeds begin to stir.

~Once temperatures consistently rise above 70°F, the window closes because germination is underway, and your product will be far less effective.
