I was lucky enough to work for an amazing family before I ventured off to start this business. Being a small part of the Vernick gang was the first time I felt really proud to put an employers shirt on. It shaped how I wanted to feel wearing my own shirt. How people who would eventually work for me would feel putting it on. I still feel it when I put the Vernick shirt or hat I have on now.
Greg is a great friend and leader, but I learned so many lessons on how to be a man from him. On what it means to really take care of people. He showed me that no matter how successful, the work remains the same.
He tried to help me before I was willing to accept the help and I will forever be in debt for that show of kindness and friendship. This was a very small showing of my gratefulness to Greg and Julie and the entire Vernick family for the time spent working with each other. I will always cherish my time there. And if you’ve never been, go treat yourself and friends to something amazingly crafted by people with good souls.

Shout out to my main boys who helped deliver and put the finishing touches on, Francisco & Adenso, who show up every single day ready to work, wearing the shirt, grateful for the opportunity. They are building their own dreams, taking care of their families. If you hire me for a project, you’re hiring them too. I would not be able to do anything I do without you guys.

“Let me tell you about my boat..”

This project in Fishtown started like many others: plans, demolition, rebuilding, and the goal of creating a beautiful home. But along the way, it became something far more personal to us.

Daniel and Randy welcomed us into their home and their lives from day one. What began as a working relationship quickly grew into a friendship, the kind that reminds you that the work we do is ultimately about people.

During the renovation, we learned that Daniel’s cancer had returned, and it returned aggressively. Hearing that news hit all of us hard. From that moment on, the project meant something different. It wasn’t just about finishing a renovation anymore, it was about finishing it for them.

Our entire team pushed to get the house ready so Daniel and Randy could be home together, surrounded by the people who loved them most during Daniel’s final days.

Watching Randy’s strength through all of this has been nothing short of remarkable. The love in that home was something you could feel the moment you walked through the door.

Daniel was an incredible person whose strength, kindness, and spirit left a lasting impression on all of us. It was an honor to know him and to help create a space where he and his family could share those final moments together.

Projects come and go, but some stay with you forever. This is one of them.

Randy- thank you for your strength, your trust, and your friendship. We hope the relationship we built through this project lasts a lifetime, wherever we may go..

Dunphy Home Improvement is growing fast, and we’re hiring a Foreman to help lead residential renovation projects throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties.

This role is for someone who takes ownership — of the jobsite, the crew, and the final product.

🔧 What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Overseeing day-to-day jobsite operations
• Managing crew productivity & quality control
• Reading plans and executing with precision
• Coordinating subs and materials
• Maintaining clean, organized job sites
• Communicating clearly with homeowners and management

💪 What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years hands-on construction experience
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Deep understanding of residential renovations
• Ability to problem-solve under pressure
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic
• Pride in craftsmanship

Bonus if you:
• Understand scheduling and workflow systems
• Have experience running full remodels
• Want long-term growth, not just a paycheck

🎉 4 Years of Dunphy Home Improvement 🎉

Four years ago, this started as an idea, a lot of hard work, and a belief that doing things the right way would matter. Since then, we’ve grown in ways we couldn’t have fully imagined. Not just professionally, but personally too.

We’ve learned, adapted, built systems, made mistakes, fixed them, and kept pushing forward. Along the way, we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible clients, meeting amazing people, and building relationships that mean far more than just projects completed.

To everyone who has supported us; friends, family, clients past and present, and those who will trust us in the future, thank you. None of this happens without you.

Here’s to continued growth, better work, stronger relationships, and many more years ahead. After all, we’re just getting started..

We loved bringing this bathroom redesign to life! From the upgraded tile work to the sleek new fixtures, to the new design layout, every detail was planned with creativity and function in mind. The result is a fresh, modern space that feels brighter and more inviting.

One of our favorite parts of this project was finding the original beams in the ceiling, preserving them, and giving them a finished look. That touch brought in so much warmth and character, tying the new design back to the home’s story.

Every nail, every cut, every late night has its own story — and now we’re building ours.

What started with just an idea (and a whole lot of hard work) has grown into something bigger than we imagined. Every project, every challenge, every lesson has brought us to this point.

🏡 Bigger, Better, Brighter — Porch Transformation Complete!

We just wrapped up an awesome porch rebuild for a great client!
✨ First, we demo’d the old structure and removed all the Trex decking.
✨ Laid down fresh astro turf for a soft, clean, low-maintenance surface, with proper drainage for the puppies 🫣
✨ Rebuilt the entire porch, making it bigger, stronger, and better than ever.
✨ Installed brand new corrugated roofing with clear panels that let sunlight pour into the porch and the home.

We’ve just got a couple of finishing touches left, but this spot is already a perfect mix of shade, sunshine, and relaxation.

From demo day to final screw, we’re about building spaces you’ll love for years to come.
