At the request of one our customers, Orchem Pumps designed and fabricated the first counter flow water sampling cooler back in the 1970s. The goal was to be able to pull steam directly from a boiler or hot water system and cool it down to a managable temperature so that it could be tested safely. The Orchem Pumps LB model sample cooler was born from this project, demand took off, and it has since been sold all over the world. For over half a century the design has remained largely unchanged with two versions being offered, the LBC and LBS (stainless). Our RR/RR-SS models were later introduced to offer larger cooling capabilities and the unique ability to be disassembled and serviced. Today we are proud to introduce our new LBX/LBXm coolers. These two follow the same basic design as the original LB cooler, with a few more refined options and a streamlined look. The fittings have been shortened and recessed to create a smaller profile. The adapters have wrench relief cuts making it easier to tighten or remove fittings as needed. Couplers have been relocated to increase cooling water flow and overall performance. Both models will come in the polished stainless finish. The LBXm being half the size, is perfect for installation in tight areas, inside machines, or for smaller overall systems. It has a redesigned coil section, allowing it to be super compact and still perform just as well as its larger counter part. Newly designed universal mounting plates will soon be available, as well as some optional accessories that will make operating the unit safer and easier. We are currently adjusting our inventory and manufacturing processes to accommodate the new line and they should be available for order come April.

While there have been many imitators and cheap knockoffs over the years, none of them can even come close in comparison. All of our products are handcrafted, constructed of high quality materials, and individually tested to the absolute highest standards.

Start to finish rebuild on 2 of our most massive stainless RR coolers, that were shipped back to us from a long time customer. Over a decade of prolonged and continuous use had lead to an inevitable failure of the inner coil on one, and a clogged coil on the other. We completely stripped both cooler bodies, cut and replaced the inner sample coils, repainted, and reassembled. All with a couple day turn around. We take a lot of pride in delivering a quality product, with the customer service to match. These are ready to go another decade or better.

Installation of a triple zone dust control system at a recycling facility in Allentown. This system is set up with dual timers for electric, water, and compressed air. It will be completely automatic, which includes a clearing phase that will remove any existing water from the lines during freezing temperatures. The level of dust reduction is absolutely amazing and this is only one zone.

Recently had the opportunity to get hands on and operate coolers produced by some of our competitors. Of course it makes you nervous, and you question a lot of things. Maybe theirs is better somehow. How well is it built? What materials are being used? Does it function better? It was close in some aspects, but there are many reasons we continue to be the #1 name in steam condensate coolers. That said, there is always room for improvement and we are in development of a few new products that will keep us there for decades to come.
