I’ve taken an enormous liking to making this birdseye maple the center of attention. In my opinion, it’s some of the most unique and beautifully figured wood I can get my hands on. It’s also maple, which means it’s some of the toughest wood out there.

This last commission was a behemoth: 22” x 21” x 1.75”, 17.5 lbs. It features a fl**ge that drapes nicely over the countertop along with chamfers around the whole block for some extra support to pick it up. Oh, and it 100% made out of walnut. This is about as chic as butcher blocks come.
