I hosted a briefing with for City Councilmembers and staff about affordability.

Trump and his MAGA Congress are making life more expensive to benefit their billionaire donors. Pennsylvania Senate Republicans refuse to fully fund essentials like transit and schools. So it is up to us to make life more affordable for Philadelphians.

On June 2, people from across Pennsylvania are coming together in Harrisburg for Lobby Day.
Organizers, faith leaders, parents, students, and community members will meet directly with elected officials to push for solutions around affordability, full and fair public school funding, climate accountability around data centers, and the growing pressures facing working families across our state.
This is about more than one issue. It’s about building the relationships, pressure, and collective action needed to move policy forward and create lasting change for our communities.

Violence like this does not happen in isolation. It grows when fear is normalized, communities are demonized, and division is rewarded.
We mourn with the Muslim community in San Diego and with Muslim communities everywhere carrying grief, exhaustion, and loss.
We reject anti-Muslim hate. We believe every sacred space deserves safety, dignity, and peace. And we know solidarity across faiths is necessary to build the world our communities deserve.

Faith leaders in Norristown are mobilizing for Lobby Day, the question is, will you join us?

On June 2nd, POWER chapters across Pennsylvania are headed to Harrisburg for a day of action. We will be meeting with elected officials discussing our concerns around data center policies, affordability and school funding. From 9:30-3:30 we will be at the capital and offering bus pick up in Philly, Norristown, and Royersford ahead of time for all who need travel.

This week our team organized families to fill the school board meeting and speak directly about the conditions students are facing. Their message was clear: our children deserve more.
We’re advocating for adequacy funding to support:

đź“– $700K for reading specialists across the district
