When someone says succulents and cacti don’t like water…

They do….they just don’t want to stay wet forever.

This is the soak and dry method: give them a really good drink, let all the extra water drain out, and then wait until the soil is fully dry before watering again. That’s much closer to how they get water in nature.
You can do it in a large bucket like me or in your sink.

In the water, I’m using my favorite liquid plant food and hydration renew. The plant food gives them nutrients while they’re actively growing, and hydration renew helps overly dry, compact, or hydrophobic soil actually absorb water instead of letting it run right through.

A lot of succulent problems come from watering too often, not from giving them too much water at once. Soil mix and drainage make a big difference too.

Save this for the next time you’re tempted to give your succulents “just a little sip.”

Comment DETAILS and I’ll send you the links to my plant food and hydration renew!
