Happy June! 🩷💛🩵

We take so much PRIDE in the safe, beautiful spaces we’ve had the honor of designing. Outdoor gathering areas can provide tranquil opportunities for reflection, relaxation, and connection. Everyone can always use a little respite from the world. ✨

Designed with the community, for the community 🌱

Viridian transformed a flat park in Warrington, PA into an inclusive destination centered around connection, play, and nature. From the 15-foot “Kids Mountain” and sensory-rich play features to accessible trails, wetlands, swings for all abilities, and musical gathering spaces, every detail was shaped through conversations with neighbors, families, staff, and local kids. The result: a vibrant park where everyone can explore, play, and belong. 💚

As we make our way through Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s important to understand how landscape design is pivotal in creating spaces that users of all ages and abilities can find tranquility. ✨🧠

Today on the Blog: Landscapes Designed for Mental Health Can Start With a Walk 🚶🏼‍♂️🚶🏽‍♀️

Mental & physical health aren’t separate systems. They’re intertwined in a complex relationship, shaped by biology and psychology, but also by the social and environmental conditions around us. Designed landscapes should do more than look good; they should make it easier to feel good…one walk, one loop, one small routine at a time. 🍃✨

We dive deeper into projects we integrated “The Medical Mile,” implementing nature as medicine in a simple, measurable, and accessible way.

It’s hard to keep a clear head and positive outlook in today’s modern world. Addictive technology, outrage-driven media, the looming threat of climate change, and the daily churn of bad news leaves many of us overwhelmed & exhausted.

Nature heals. Touching grass helps. And one of the oldest tools for mental wellness is the labyrinth. 🌿

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this week’s blog post explores how labyrinths can help restore pattern, pace, and structure.

One way in. One way out. Walk. Breathe. ✨

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🌸

Throughout the month, we’ll reflect on the projects that exemplify our prioritization of mental health in the community as landscapes are the perfect vessel to deliver the space + tranquility to calm the mind, body, and soul. 🧠💚✨

As April comes to a close, we celebrate the final week of World Landscape Architecture Month by understanding how landscape architects lead on climate, biodiversity, equity + innovation, and how today’s decisions shape the future of our communities:

The Borough of Media is ready to grow 🌱

With supportive landowners who are in large favor of supporting their local ecosystem, robust planting education has the potential to transform Media into a healthy habitat.

Homegrown National Park is a nationwide movement empowering anyone with some soil to plant native and remove invasive species, encouraging habitat connectivity to grow stronger. 💪🏼

Connecting our yards to parks and open space allows for animals, insects, pollinators, and birds to safely travel and find refuge between them. Small actions create big impact. ✨

🌳 NEW on the Blog: Why Arbor Day Still Matters@154 Years Later

Last Friday’s Arbor Day celebration had us reflecting on the meaningful projects we’ve partnered on with , advancing their mission to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees while helping communities, schools, and landscapes grow greener. 🌱

From creating outdoor classrooms at Abington Friends School to supporting long-term planning at Arbor Day Farm, the vision remains clear: connect people to trees in ways that endure.

Small actions today, such as planting, caring, and learning, can grow into something far greater tomorrow ✨

Week 4 of World Landscape Architecture Month, we dive into our Steeple Center project. This design captures Action Through Impact, exploring just how strong a community can become when green space is prioritized and community health is considered.

A historic space reimagined for the future 🌿✨

Blending heritage with contemporary design, the Steeple Center transforms a 300-year-old site into a vibrant hub for art, community, and connection. Rooted in equity, sustainability, and healing, it’s a place where past and present meet, while creating space for reflection and expression in the heart of Trenton, New Jersey. ❤️

⏩⏩ Swipe to see a few renderings of the project. We can’t wait to make them a reality!

Today on the Blog is all about EARTH DAY! We explore the benefits of street trees 🌎🌳

Earth Day is more than a date, it’s a reminder to pay attention, then take action.

Street trees are one of those rare pieces of urban landscape infrastructure that improve multiple parts of that system at once. Those benefits fall into three major categories: environmental, economic, and social.
