JKRP Architects

JKRP Architects Residential | Entertainment | Retail | Self Storage A place is nothing without people. At JKRP Architects, we put people at the core of the process.

Our collaborative culture makes every step of the project as engaging as the result, creating lasting relationships that are the foundation for everything we do. Through carefully designed and quality-built spaces, we connect the client’s vision to a living reality. The outcome is more than just a building - it’s an ongoing experience that we’re building together. Founded in 1984, JKRP Architects

is a full-service architecture firm built on relationships. Based in Philadelphia and serving clients nationwide, we become a part of the community. We explore your neighborhood, meet your neighbors, and stay up-to-date on the latest trends in development to make your project a success. We believe that the process is as important as the finished project, and we're committed to providing high-caliber work and open communication every step of the way. Taking care of all of the details, from planning and designing to organizing construction and post-construction services, we listen to your ideas and create a place that doesn’t just meet your needs, but that also gives you an exceptional experience. By working with you throughout the entire project and beyond, we create continuing partnerships to connect people across the country.

After more than 40 years with JKRP Architects, Principal Paul Georges, AIA, is retiring. Over the decades, Paul has made a lasting impact on our firm through the projects he helped bring to life, the client relationships he built, and the many colleagues he supported and mentored along the way. His expertise, thoughtful approach to design, and commitment to his work have left a mark on JKRP that will continue well beyond his retirement.

JKRP’s proposed design for 1706–10 Walnut Street is featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer, offering a first look at the new two-story retail building planned for the site of Walnut Gardens in Center City. The limestone-clad building will introduce approximately 33,000 SF of retail space along with a setback rooftop restaurant and outdoor seating. As JKRP Principal Jerry Roller shared with The Inquirer, “It’s meant to be in keeping with and in harmony with the remainder of the streetscape on Walnut Street.”

Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves for our recent blood drive with the American Red Cross! This was the third blood drive organized by JKRP’s Community Outreach Committee, bringing together our team, colleagues, and fellow tenants at 1601 Market to help support patients in need. We’re grateful to everyone who donated and helped make the day a success.

We’re excited to share a look at the recently completed 1201 Callowhill. Built on the site of a former surface parking lot, the mixed-use residential community brings 144 market-rate apartments and ground-floor commercial space to Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood. Situated alongside the Rail Park, the building features illuminated vertical fins, expansive glazing, and a carefully detailed façade, giving it a distinctive architectural presence. The project is pursuing LEED Gold Certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainable design.

Yesterday, a few members of the JKRP team spent the afternoon volunteering at Project HOME's Hub of Hope, located just a short walk from our office in Philadelphia's underground concourse. Hub of Hope provides a safe, welcoming space for individuals experiencing homelessness, offering daily meals, showers, laundry facilities, healthcare services, case management, and other essential resources. During our volunteer shift, we helped sort clothing donations for distribution to participants.
🔸
Thank you to the Project HOME team, especially Hospitality Coordinator Keisha, for welcoming us and for the important work you do every day. We are grateful for the opportunity to support your mission and look forward to volunteering again.

Last Thursday's forecast called for triple-digit temperatures, but spending the afternoon together as a team at the Phillies game still made for great day at the ballpark. Thanks to everyone who braved the heat to catch up outside the office and spend some well-earned time together. 🔸
